This week I would like to share with you the most famous sight in the Blue mountains at Katoomba, NSW, Australia - The Three Sisters.

The Three Sisters is a unique rock formation overlooking the Jamison Valley.

The three sisters is a Aboriginal Dreamtime legend. And yes you guessed it , the three peaks represent Three Sisters that were turned to stone.

Another amazing place in the Blue Mountains :-)
Question.
What did the sisters do to turn them into stone?

It sure is amazing!
Legend has it three sisters fell in love with three brothers from a neighbouring mob, but they were forbidden to marry outside their mob.

So the three brothers kidnapped the sisters and a major battle ensued.

An elderly witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe feared for the safety of the sisters and cast a spell to turn them to stone to keep them safe from harm. Yet during the raging battle the witchdoctor was killed and unable to reverse the spell.

Thanks for the legend.
It is an interesting and sad story from the time of the original inhabitants of your beautiful country.
