IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON TEENAGERS.
Social media has numerous roles in our society in this generation , social media has alot of disadvantages and advantages to it users.
Social media makes communication and connection across borders easy , enable businesses grow drastically and also enable business owners reach out to people outside their environment.
Also social media has caused many negative impacts too.
Social media has alot of disadvantages and advantage to the young and old and in this post I will be focusing on it negative and positive impacts on teenagers and how it can be controlled.
In today's world every teenagers wants to have access to the media, participate in the different activities and trends in the social media platforms, which I find fun and engaging, but the rate at which adults post inappropriate contents on social media platforms, is really alarming and is influencing the mind of this young teenagers.
Social media platforms plays vital roles for teenagers, in communication, information, connections and exposure, when it's being used for the right purposes and the right way, but when they get addicted or use the media negatively it creates problems to their guidance and society as large.
Personally I believe, restrictions should be placed on the phones of teenagers, their phone and gadgets should be monitored always by their parents.
The main purpose of social media is communication and informations, teenagers should be made to understand that communicating to love ones and family is the main purpose of social media platforms, and not communicate with strangers and corrupt adults.
Also socia media would also help teenagers gain more education and knowledge about certain educational apps, that would impact them and teach them new knowledges and ways to gain valuable information.
It's the work of parents and guidance to teach them how to use the social media platforms to get educative knowledges and access educative communities.
In as much as social media has it negative impacts on teenagers, it also helps them to build positive attributes and values, like creativity, confidence, self awareness and spiritual knowledge.
With the help of social media kids can acquire courses in different fields like photography, video editing , football, fashion, business skills, modeling and many more.
In most cases, social media helps them discover their career path and interest, if they meet and communicate with like minded individuals and people.
Helping them obtain a sense of belonging.
To avoid negative habits like addictions and excessive use of phone among teenagers they should be properly instructed on when and when not to use a phone or access social media, to avoid addiction and lately night use of phone and gadgets.
It's very important, we educate teenagers on cyber fraud and bullying, which is one of the disadvantage of social media platforms in our recent days.
They should have an awareness of the fraudulent act and scam schemes on social media and also learn to practice safety on social media platforms.
Parents and guidance should also help strike a balance, to avoid distractions and failures in their academic activities and performance.
Social media has it disadvantage and advantages, but it all depends on how it's being utilized and explored.
Lastly ,with the introduction of teens account by Meta Facebook for teenagers, which is only available for kids below 18 years, it will monitor and control the activities of teenagers and also control the contents that would be viewed by this teenagers and also control the set of people they get to communicate and interact with.
Considering the age restrictions , they get to communicate with their age mates and use the Internet wisely.
Social media will definitely inform kids and make them more exposed both negative and positive, but this can be handled and controlled by parents and guidance .
Teenagers should be restricted from certain contents and space in media for their own protection.
Thanks for reading ♥️

Yes social media has alot of advantages and disadvantages but the teenagers needs is proper guidance on it
Yes
Teenagers should always be properly guided .
Truly, kids need directions not just restrictions. And what you said about teenagers using social media to discover career paths is to true, I've seen it happen. And yes, that meta teens account sounds promising if used right, hopefully more platforms can adopt simliar features to help protect young users. Nice write up
I hope more platform adopt similar features, teenagers need to be protected in the Internet space at all cost.
Thanks for stopping by .
How I wish all other platforms too can initiate the same restriction as Meta.
Parent have to also know that they play major role in the teenagers decision
Parents and guidance play a major and important role in teenage decisions and lifestyle.
Very true
..Social media has huge benefits if guided well. Parents really need to be involved and set clear boundaries.
Really admire your work
Parents needs to be fully involved, the Internet isn't a place where kids should be left to explore alone.
The issue is that a lot of parents don't know much about social media, how would the children then be taught how to manage it.
In this case, it is going to be extremely difficult 😂.
You don't need to be exposed to the Internet to inculcate good attributes in your kids, I feel they can reach out in so many ways.
There's a saying, anything you don't know is bigger than you
but the rate at which adults post inappropriate contents on social media platformsThey are dishing out what people want to see, not minding that the underage are also seeing it, what a life.
I feel embarrassed when I see adults misbehave on the media, all in the name of content.
That's why I don't blame most parents that place restrictions and give their kids access to phone at certain age.
Parent should jealousy guide there kids on the kind of content the watch online. The world have really advanced it will be very hard to restrict them from social media.
Yes Dear
It's very important they guide their kids.
