Apps I can't live without when traveling and exploring new places

Travelling is often very stressful and it is not just a quiet part of our lives. To enhance the experience of discovering new places, I have a couple of important apps on my phone that make my life easier. The first thing for me is the importance of having a mobile phone and an internet connection.

Have you had the experience of not having money of a given currency and having to pay large currency conversion fees? Have you had the experience of being in a place and not knowing which way to go? You went to see the sunset but the sun was setting somewhere you didn't expect. Surprised by the weather?

Thanks to my travels abroad, I've picked up a few apps that I couldn't imagine life without now and I don't understand how people did it before technology like the internet and mobile:) Unfortunately, I am a new generation. I don't know all the apps and I'm still learning, but I think this is a good foundation.

)
We'll leave great accommodation apps like booking.com or airbnb.com , which I think everyone knows to find the right accommodation. We'll start with a money transfer app for easy payment in a currency other than your home currency.

1) Revolut app

It's an app that works like your other bank account, but it offers almost every currency in the world and their exchange fee is minimal compared to the big banks. With a free account, you have 1000 euros for free exchanges, after that, there is a 1% fee(still cheaper than exchanging through banks) . You can invest through Revolut and now you can collect points for each payment for cheaper flights, accommodation, and so on.

For me, it is a very nice environment in which everything is very simple and accessible. You can have only a virtual card or cancel the card after each purchase. I would definitely not leave a large number of money there and send in, always as much as approx. I spend. Great app to further protect your funds when you don't want to pay from your main account and for payments in foreign currencies when the rates are sovereignly the best. Here only beware! There is a fee on weekends, so if you are going to a foreign country on a weekend, transfer your money in advance. A similar app is Wise. No matter which one you use, just don't transfer through banks!

2) Mapy.cz

I've written an article about these maps here before, but I have to keep praising them. For me, these are the best maps for hiking, biking, and finding sunset and sunrise spots. They include offline maps that when you download you don't even need the internet. Most of the countries of the world are located there and their coverage is pretty accurate. I've worked with them beyond the Arctic Circle and it was fine. For navigating by car, I wouldn't highly recommend these maps because they lack the up-to-date road conditions that apps like Waze or Google Maps provide.

3) PhotoPills

As a lover of sunsets and sunrises, I need to know approximately where the sun will set and where it will rise and that's what this app is for. You can look in advance where the sun will be so it doesn't set behind a hill before you get there. It can then also "Live view" when you are in that location, turn on the camera and it will show you exactly where the sun will set. So if you go exploring the spot earlier, you'll see where the sun will set or rise.

4) Park4night

For those who love traveling by car in Europe, I have a great app for you that can save you a lot of trouble, because as I'm sure you know in many countries sleeping in the car is forbidden. This app will give you tips on places to sleep, a list of people who offer to sleep in their backyard, and so on. You will see a review and the safety of the location.

5) Locationscout and Alltrails

I use these two apps to find new places and views for a photo. The first named Locationscout is an app with photos and the exact location of the photo to capture similar scenery from that location. However, I should note that it only features very well-known places and cities. However, it can enrich you with what can be photographed in a given location.

Alltrails is an app for a change that will give you tips on the most beautiful walking, and cycling circuits in a given area. Whether simple or longer and multi-day. A great app if you are in a new environment and don't want to spend time looking for a suitable route. Always has the route described, gives you parking, where to park and you can see photos of the location.

6) Meteoblue

Weather is a chapter in itself, and I have to say that I haven't quite found the right app yet, I always combine multiple apps to find out the predicted weather. However, meteoblue delivers a lot of information and if you combine that with the National Weather Institute for the country you shouldn't be surprised.
