It's clear that there are more civilizations more advanced than ours than less advanced ones. But none of them have contacted us via radio. This is likely not the only method of communication.

It is true, there will be more advanced civilizations than ours, due to the probability and time of the universe; There we fall into the Fermi paradox, where are they?...

Academician Nikolai Kardashev had an interesting answer to this question. I favor the zoo hypothesis.

I like the Strugatsky brothers' story "Hard to Be a God" (but I don't think that's how observation works).
