🥺☺️🥺 So Cute 🥺☺️🥺

So, this is a small carnivorous animal I just heard today and it's commonly known as the Asiatic Linsang. I think it strongly resembles a pokemon, but it's been two decades since I last played the game and my memory doesn't help me pinpoint exactly which 😅

The common name is used for the genus Prionodon, which contains two extant species:

• Prionodon linsang (Banded Linsang)
• Prionodon pardicolor (Spotted linsang)

Both species are found in Southeast Asia, in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. They are typically found in forests and wooded areas.

With their sharp claws they prey on small mammals, birds, and insects.

They are mostly nocturnal and elusive creatures and as a result studying em is close to impossible and as a result there are not many clear photos and videos of these beautiful creatures to share.

Apparently they are built that way to help them see in the night when they are most active.n

You may have also noticed that they vaguely resemble a cat..not surprisingly DNA sampling in 2000s revealed that they are probably the closest living relative to felidae the family of cats! Their claws even retract in a similar fashion !

Unfortunately these beautiful creatures are victim to their beauty and their numbers are declining due to poaching and illegal pet trade....
