[ESP/ ENG] Recibiendo nuevos ingenieros en el Servicio Geológico de Cuba

Trabajo en el Instituto de Geología y Paleontología, Servicio Geológico de Cuba y, como centro de investigación los trabajadores de las áreas esenciales son, en su mayoría graduados universitarios de las carreras de Ingeniería en Geología, Geofísica e Informática.

Nuestro centro de trabajo tiene una fuerza altamente calificada, pero, es una masa de trabajadores con muchos años de experiencias y en el almanaque por lo que la llegada de nuevos investigadores siempre nos alegra porque sabemos que el relevo está garantizado y todo el conocimiento acumulado será entregado a estos nuevos ingenieros.

Por tales razones, todos los años en nuestro centro se prepara una actividad de recibimiento, en la que compartimos con todos los nuevos que llegan. En esta actividad les explicamos los elementos esenciales de nuestro centro, pero, es una actividad de confraternización.

Objetivo del encuentro

Cuando los graduados universitarios llegan a los centros laborales se enfrentan a un mundo nuevo. En este no hay coincidencia entre lo que vivieron en el centro de estudio y lo que vivirán en el escenario laboral.

Muchas veces la primera impresión que se llevan estos jóvenes es muy importante y puede marcar el rumbo de su vida laboral futura. En nuestro caso, pretendemos que este primer momento sea lo más agradable posible y lo menos técnico y tedioso porque en vez de enamorar a los jóvenes podemos ahuyentarlos y es una de las causas por las cuales terminado su etapa de adiestramiento se van de los centros laborales.

En tal sentido, el objetivo del encuentro sigue siendo el mismo, pero, tratamos de hacerlo de la manera más amena posible y, en sintonía con lo que le gusta y prefiere este grupo de jóvenes. Esto no quiere decir que se dejen de darle a conocer sus objetivos de trabajos, misiones y funciones fundamentales. De igual manera, ellos nos dijeron sus expectativas y aspiraciones al llegar a nuestra institución.

Los participantes en la actividad

Además de los nuevos ingenieros participaron los directivos de cada una de las áreas en las que trabajarán los compañeros y otros trabajadores que tienen que ver con la labor de capacitación y desarrollo de los adiestrados.

El lugar escogido

La actividad se realizó en las áreas del Hotel Comodoro que cuenta con todas las condiciones y comodidades, para realizar fiestas como estas. Es uno de los lugares que más frecuentamos por la bien que la pasamos y por la calidad de los servicios que brindan.

Dentro de las acciones que hicimos estuvieron baño en la piscina, juegos de participación, conversatorios, sobre actividades científicas, bailes. También degustamos un almuerzo muy sabroso y, bajo el intenso calor que nos acompaña por estos días refrescamos tomándonos unas sabrosas cervezas cubanas.

Cada año realizamos actividades como estas que son muy apreciadas por nuestros trabajadores y, en ellas hacemos una encuesta, para ver la calidad de las acciones que hicimos. En este caso, los destinatarios se sintieron muy contentos y nos pidieron repetir la experiencia.

A necessary introduction

I work at the Institute of Geology and Paleontology, Geological Survey of Cuba and, as a research center, the workers of the essential areas are mostly university graduates of the careers of Engineering in Geology, Geophysics and Informatics.

For these reasons, every year in our center we prepare a welcoming activity, in which we share with all the new arrivals. In this activity we explain to them the essential elements of our center, but it is also a fraternization activity.

Objective of the meeting

When university graduates arrive at the work centers they face a new world. In this world there is no coincidence between what they experienced in the study center and what they will experience in the work scenario.

Often the first impression these young people get is very important and can mark the course of their future working life. In our case, we try to make this first moment as pleasant as possible and as less technical and tedious as possible, because instead of making the young people fall in love with us, we may scare them away, which is one of the reasons why they leave the work centers at the end of their training stage.

In this sense, the objective of the meeting remains the same, but we try to make it as pleasant as possible and in tune with what this group of young people likes and prefers. This does not mean that we did not let them know their work objectives, missions and fundamental functions. They also told us their expectations and aspirations when they arrived at our institution.

In addition to the new engineers, the managers of each of the areas in which the colleagues will work and other workers involved in the training and development of the trainees participated in the activity.

The place chosen

The activity was held in the areas of the Comodoro Hotel, which has all the conditions and amenities to hold parties like these. It is one of the most frequented places because of the good time we had and the quality of the services they provide.

Among the activities we did were swimming in the pool, participation games, talks about scientific activities, dances. We also enjoyed a very tasty lunch and, under the intense heat that accompanies us these days, we refreshed ourselves with some tasty Cuban beers.

A final comment

Every year we carry out activities like these that are very much appreciated by our workers and, in them we make a survey, to see the quality of the actions we did. In this case, the recipients were very happy and asked us to repeat the experience.
