Humans: Cooperation Among Groups
Humanity succeeded over other species because of our ability to cooperate in large groups. We’re the only species that can do this—or at least we do this far better and on a much larger scale than any other species.
Social cooperation is the reason we have consciousness, which was naturally selected for as a means to promote better cooperation. Being able to think about what others in the group are thinking and feeling makes you better cooperate with them. The larger the group, the more successful it will be because there will be more specialists with diversity in skills and knowledge, which can be pooled together and shared.
Consider ancient Egypt and Rome. Those civilizations fell when they lost cooperation. On the other hand, America rose because of cooperation. And it will fall if it can’t cooperate, which is now being threatened both from within (the left and right is not cooperating at all) and without (the US is not cooperating with other countries like Russia and China).
Cooperation is essential to the success of the human species. Without cooperation, civilization will collapse. The only way to survive is to cooperate better between the left and the right, and with foreign countries.
