Combining Technology-Driven Solutions With Vocational Skills Development. A practical approach to global unemployment.
Addressing the problem of global unemployment will require a multifaceted approach that combines the efforts of the government, state institutions, and individuals, with industries such as agriculture, vocational skills training programs, and new technological innovations. Integrating these sectors will make room for a new approach to the generational global unemployment problem.
Combining technology-driven solutions with vocational skills development is a practical approach to combating the problems of unemployment. This will create innovative industries, bridge the skill gap and empower people with demanding skills that will improve their chances of acquiring jobs or even creating jobs for themselves.
To achieve this, governments need to collaborate with industries and institutions to identify emerging skills requirements that can be incorporated into the educational curriculum to develop training programs on relevant skills. Based on formal and informal levels.
In today’s world of continuous innovation and automation where traditional skills are systematically replaced by new technologies, even college and university graduates must adopt re-skilling and up-skilling strategies to improve their skills to meet the changing demands of today’s industries.
This can also be achieved by leveraging online learning platforms that offer affordable technical and vocational courses to acquire new employable skills in various fields such as fashion and design, food and pastries production, and digital skills such as coding, digital marketing, graphic design, and other skills that are in demand.
Governments can also provide more conducive work environments, infrastructure, and policies that allow people to access job opportunities and training globally, regardless of their geographical location. This may include providing reliable internet services, digital communication tools, remote work and learning infrastructure, etc. This will help open up more employment opportunities and reduce unemployment rates.
Social media and the introduction of new digital innovations has presented a great advantage in tackling unemployment. It is now left on to individuals to tap into this great opportunity to aquire employable skills that will improve their lives and livelihoods.
As mentioned earlier, governments also have vital roles to play in order for people to fully tap into thess advantages of new innovations and technologies.
