Thanks for being here and leaving a comment. One of the important things in this article is that from a structural point of view a centrifugal compressor is made up of an impeller integral with the hub which carries the blades in a cantilevered manner

I would add that centrifugal compressors, compared to axial compressors, are generally used for applications that require high compression ratios but with lower volumetric flow rates.
