What is an AMA?
AMA is a format popular on Reddit where one person offers to answer questions for a limited period of time.
How long will I answer questions?
I will usually answer them pretty quickly, and I should be around for a few hours. I will continue to answer them as they come in. I am going to hop out in a few hours to go see Violent Santa but will be back to answering questions after.

I love movies, but I feel at this point Hollywood is so focused on pushing their agendas there really isn't anything good anymore.
Like music, I am all over the place. I like action, drama, comedy, pretty much everything. I especially love "epic scale" and period movies.

What would you say is your most niche or surprising(to us, who semi-know you via hive) hobby?
I love playing board games, the more complex the rules the better. I am not a fan of simple rules games, but I do like party games like Werewolves of Miller Hollow.

I'm more of a realist. I firmly believe no one knows where a token will be in a year much less a day from now. There are so many factors it is impossible to predict. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of shit.

I really don't have any expectations of anyone. Everyone is a free individual to do what they please. This is the premise behind decentralization. I hope they find something they find interesting and enjoyable.
I did have a game planned for Hive Punks called Plunder Punks, but I'm working on other things now. As for Ape Mining Club, nothing to announce.

I have a few questions here and there:
First, I've been thinking of working on some projects here on Hive, but feel constrained as I am not so popular and may not get my voice heard properly. So, I would like to ask you: What will it take for you to buy into a Hive-based project proposal (like what kind of projects do you see potential in, e.g., niche and more)? What would be a good pitch to you?
Do you do autovotes? If yes, what will it take to earn that secure spot in your heart to take out the time to add someone to earn a portion of your HP? What criteria/qualities do you look out for in a user? If no, what are your reasons, and do you consider autovoting unethical?
Thirdly, I believe that at some point, we grow so much that we need the services of others. I am enthusiastic about supporting some projects and users here, as I believe that would give me more relevance and useful exposure. So, do you already run a team? If yes, what remote spots could someone reach out to, and what qualities do you look out for? If you are a lone operator, why do you think it's better to work alone than with a team?
Popularity is great, but if you have an amazing idea, it will get popular on it's own. We all started from nowhere here.
Onboarding in my opinion is the biggest thing, anything that brings in more users.
I am not against auto votes, I always curated people I thought created good content and added value. As for what it takes to get my vote, I never really go into that, there is nothing anyone can do to influance how I vote. For the last year though I have had angry whales countering my upvotes because I downvoted their votes on abuse and they threw a fit. So I don't have the luxury anymore to choose what I vote on.
I am a lone operator. Trust is a big factor for me, trust in the integrity, but also performance. Many people come on strong, but then quickly move on to other things abandoning their responsibilities.

I just asked @acidyo this on his AMA, but I'll throw it to you too. I don't think we've talked about it in the Mancave before, or if so I don't remember.
What do you think about ChatGPT and it's effect on Hive? Should Hive try to implement a way to detect it? Or should we just let the newbies who use it run wild and burn out after awhile before disappearing, as many new users do. More grandly, do you see good effects from this technology or bad ones? No doubt it will eventually lead to a reform of how we (society) teach schools, but that could be good or bad depending on who you talk to.
I think ChatGPT is a short term thing, there has been AI content creation for ages but ChatGPT took it to the next level. It won't be free and open forever, OpenAI always puts their models behind expensive paywalls, this will drastically reduce the availability to most people. It's a major problem for Hive and almost any industry. Colleges are having a hard time right now as well.
I don't think we have the resources to do that, there are some tools used to detect AI content, but they are marginal at best.
AI will change almost everything as we know it. As amazing as ChatGPT seems, it's merely a stepping stone to what's coming next.
We will find ways to adapt as a society and hopefully we find good uses of AI that moves us forward.
Most people are looking at the toy aspects of ChatGPT, but once people estabilish serious uses for it, it will be a game changer.
A good example is a company who created an AI lawyer to help fight tickets, by feeding answers into a set of glasses to help argue your case. Lawyers grouped together though and shut them down. An interesting story though nonetheless.

Hello hello happy day How long did it take you to get to the reputation you have on hive what are your strategies.
Reputation is very slow after around 65, but it is largely meaningless and I wouldn't worry about it. We want to come up with a better reputation system, but for now this is what we have.
As for how long it took, probably around 4-5 years, but I stopped posting 8-12 months ago. My original goal was to post daily since I got here.

What would be your 2 cents on how Twitter has been evolving over the last months?
I'm very concerned about the downward mobility of Hive Reputation. It takes a lot to get up and a single bigger stake can reset the pretty easily with a downvote trail on your posts and comments.
Do you feel like there's room for improvement or is the current rule of the jungle working its way decently well?
As I mentioned in another comment, reputation system is useless. It is merely a measure of how many upvotes you have had vs how many downvotes. It takes just as much downvotes as it took upvotes to move your rep.
There has been talks of replacing it, but until we find a better algorithm, it is what we have. The problem is most signals that would represent good reputation can easily be manipulated, many without any stake at all (like if we used followers, or number of upvotes as key signals).
That is a very interesting point you're making there. Maybe a third party can create different Reputations as a service. Some things are not meant to be solved on-chain.

Two questions:
When (if ever) do you see the Raspberry Pi market returning to MSRP equilibrium on Amazon?
Now that RISC-V boards are becoming more common, do you foresee that technology eclipsing the Pi, or even the Pi 5 switching from ARM to RISC-V?
I think it will take a while, the Amazon marketplace has always price gouged the Raspberry Pi trying to push people to bundles, usually you can get a better deal through Arrow or Adafruit when they have them in stock.
I don't think so, there is a lot of compatibility issues to deal with, the Pi has really good support right now compared to compeitors and it's largest selling point compared to just getting a knock off. Maybe Pi 6 or 7, but I doubt it for the Pi 5. The Pi 5 isn't coming soon either, probably 2024 or 2025.
I was OK with buying a bundle for my first board, but yeah, just getting the second on its own was a challenge even before the COVID chaos and bundle seller buy-up. I do like the community hub approach they take. It's like Apple, but without the walled garden nonsense. And I doubt the ARM license fee is a significant hurdle to warrant switching away soon.
ARM licensing fee is based on the features you use too. I can't imagine they are paying that much especially seeing as they are considered a Charity in the UK.

You don't, you have to go with your gut.
There is no quantifyable data that really can answer this. A blockchain could have great marketing, lots of funding, and turn out to be a rug pull. A small blockchain might have no real team but have a great idea that catches on. You can have everything and not be seen due to lack of marketing or just bad luck.

I am thinking about making a non-profit Hive account. Ironically, my plan is to save a lot of pollinators. Sure hive is close to a bee's hive so bees are the first in mind, but there will be much more. All the wild bees and small little flies are making even bigger jobs than domestic bees. What did I do already for this plan? I bought two lands (altogether 100 acres, one is in the national park). This land will serve as a pollinator sanctuary and activity, land for growing honey plants, honey production place (later some of the honey will be sold and the profit will go into the non-profit). I am also collecting seeds of honey plants and most of them were already grown in the garden...
When will we play a Minecraft vanilla server? :P

I currently playing Witcher 3, Hades, Hunt, Overwatch 2, Disco Elysium, Rimworld, Red Dead 2. I'm trying to get through my backlog of games. I probably won't play anymore Elden Ring until the DLC gets released.

You have to convince stake holders your proposal benefits the greater good of the hive community as much or more than you are asking. At least that is what it is in theory.
I have created a proposal, and it was funded for only a short amount of time.
Why would you think it is any different, it isn't the smallest stake holder who holds the deciding vote. You either need whales, or lots of smaller votes, it's simple math, not a conspiracy.
Do something they care about.
No one owes you anything, no one asked you to do anything. Keep that in mind when you work on it.
