Improving My FPV Drone Controller Accuracy With New 3D Printed Thumb Grips
In my pursuit of becoming a very precise FPV drone pilot, I need to have as much control over my controller sticks as possible. Unlike a regular game controller, most FPV drone controllers come with these sticks, and if you are a 'thumber' instead of a 'pincher', these sticks are very uncomfortable and not the easiest to control.
I had printed up some other thumb grips before, but I felt like I still needed a different design. I jumped on Thingiverse and found a design I could work with. This one was originally allot smaller and you needed to install a threaded adaptor just to get it to screw on the controller. Well that wasn't good for me, so I redesigned it to fit over the existing sticks instead of replacing them. The new design also makes them allot bigger and easier to control.
So now my flying has really improved and I am able to do things I wasn't able to do with the regular sticks or my other thumb grip design! It's great to be able to figure out solutions to problems and print it up yourself!
Anyway, I will be making another drone simulator video soon where I will be introducing these new grips in action!
Until then...
Be cool, be real, and always abide my dudes!

They look great and very very very grippy! I am using a tango 2 with the stock sticks and I have fun while not being a very accurate pincher. But that's my personality: fun and not very precise haha
Have fun and much energy with your improvements!
I tried pinching at first, but thumbs just felt more natural. These grips help a ton, at least in the simulator. I am not live flying just yet.
I may be able to relate to why you need that thumb grip because I play on the play station and sometimes, my hands hurt. The grip design is really nice.
Do you know something about building drones? I am actually planning to build one using a F450 drone frame.
I haven't built a drone yet, that's coming at some point when I have the extra funds. My best friend runs https://flyhighfpv.com so I have that covered when I am ready, lol.
Planning to build one for a final year project. Ordering some parts from aliexpress.
Right on! I am hoping to be in one by the end of August so I don't look like an idiot at the FPV event I am going to, lol.
