Homestead Is Getting A Modern Update With New 3D Printers And Some Rainy Realizations
My 3D printers are here! I am super excited to get this modern update for my homestead all setup! My family farm is a bit on the old school side, so I am trying to come in and tech it up a bit and give us a nice modern twist!
Going to use the printers to make whatever I need to make really, but will be focusing on hydroponics gear that I can use on the farm to grow my own food!
Anyway, check out the rest of the video for other plans and realizations I had after a big rainstorm.

You could maybe do a series of berms near the treeline to divert the water away from the 'yard' and towards the creek. If you are really serious about it the Forestry Department puts out some really good information on managing runoff. https://www.fs.usda.gov/biology/nsaec/assets/minlowvolroadwtrdsplcmnt.pdf
it's going to take more than some boards. Gonna need to rent a ditch witch or something to dig some serious drainage. It's not a small amount of water that flows through there. I would like to divert it to a brook that already leads to the creek. Been studying it since the big rain the other night.
Berms are generally constructed with a combination of rocks, logs, clay, leaves and dirt. Plenty of different options besides that of course. Take it all with a grain of salt but I have spent a few decades now dealing with runoff and water management on various sites and I gotta say... try the simplest solutions first.
Thanks for the suggestions.
You are welcome. You are on the right track by first finding where the water is coming from and doing your best to understand the terrain.
