Ready to dabble in a brand new NFT collection? From the highlands of Africa come to the blockchain the Yoruba deities with their own collection of non-fungible tokens based on the demigods of the same continent. Well, the above was a small commercial promotion, but no less true. The philosophy of this new collection is based on the first one I created two years ago: "SuperWeird Eggs", which granted different types of luck depending on the egg you collected and 30 of them came with a little surprise inside. I can't confirm, but I can corroborate that many of my collectors claimed to achieve a positive change after giving themselves an occasional egg token. Science, fiction or religion? Who knows?

Bueno, lo de arriba fue una pequeña promoción comercial, pero no menos cierta. La filosofía de esta nueva colección está basada en la primera que creé hace ya dos años atrás: "SuperWeird Eggs", la cual, otorgaba diferentes tipos de suerte según el huevo que coleccionaras además de que 30 de ellos venían con una sorpresa dentro. No puedo confirmar, pero puedo corroborar que muchos de mis coleccionistas afirmaron alcanzar un cambio positivo luego de haberse obsequiado ellos mismos con algún que otro token en forma de huevo. ¿Ciencia, ficción o religión? ¿Quién sabe?

On the other hand, "Orishas" is the name of this new collection, following the original name that these deities bring by default from African customs. I'm not religious, not at all, so I don't agree on whether these characters actually existed or not, but I did bring them into the digital realm for a very specific reason, and here we go:

Por otra parte, "Orishas" es el nombre de esta nueva colección, siguiendo el nombre original que traen estas deidades por defecto de las costumbres africanas. No soy religioso, en lo absoluto, por lo que no coincido ni difiero en que estos personajes hayan existido en realidad o no, pero sí los traje al ámbito digital por una razón muy específica, y allá vamos:

No es absoluta o la más óptima, ya eso se lo dejo a los defensores de la misma; en gran parte, estos coleccionables han sido recreados para onbordear a esa gran parte de la población del país al puente tecnológico de la Web3 y su ecosistema, ya que que con otros métodos anteriores no ha funcionado la adopción que se ha querido generar desde 2021, con esta colección se espera que se haga una rápida viralización y por consecuente, muchos usuarios se interesen en crearse su primera billetera.

Unlike other elements, representative abstractions like these make the word spread very fast in the region I'm talking about, so I don't doubt that the images be downloaded and forwarded by several people through social media and instant messaging applications. The NFT watermark has the sole purpose that people who do not know about the subject can at least begin to see the acronym until at some point clash with its meaning, but if you want to see the images in high quality and unmarked you can do it from here.

A diferencia de otros elementos, abstracciones representativas como estas hacen que se corra la voz muy rápido en la región que comento, por lo que no dudo hasta que sean descargadas y reenvidas las imágenes por varias personas a través de redes sociales y aplicaciones de mensajería instantánea. La marca de agua NFT tiene como único objetivo que las personas que no conozcan acerca del tema puedan al menos empezar a ver las siglas hasta que en algún momento choquen con su significado, pero si quieres ver las imágenes en alta calidad y sin marca puedes hacerlo desde aquí.

Talking about the technical part, I can comment that it wasn't easy to achieve a consistent and faithful finish from the generation of images for these characters. I had to study their history, which took me several hours, talking to friends and asking for anecdotes so as not to overemphasize any detail or misreference them, even so, whether they existed, exist or not, if there is something that must be taken into account to develop them in a practical way, it must be the respect for their identity.

Hablando ya de la parte técnica, puedo comentar que no fue fácil lograr un acabado consistente y fiel a partir de la generación de imágenes para estos personajes. Tuve que estudiar su historia, lo que me llevó varias horas, plática con amigos y anécdotas que pedí para no sobresaltar algún detalle o mal referenciar a los mismos, aún así, hayan existido, existan, o no, si hay algo que se debe tener en cuenta para desarrollarlos de forma práctica debe ser el respeto a su identidad.

Look at this as a live-action adaptation you never saw of these characters, or as a dark, drama-filled, action-packed Netflix series is what this is, but without animations. Each NFT represents a warrior and each warrior has its own story and syncretisms. Although they can be categorized as myths with African names, these characters also exist in other cultures with different names to back them up.

Mira esto como una adaptación live-action que nunca viste de estos personajes, o como una serie de Netflix oscura y llena de drama y acción, es lo que es esto, pero sin animaciones. Cada NFT representa a un guerrero y cada guerrero tiene su historia y sincretismos. A pesar de que se pueden catalogar como mitos con nombres africanos, estos personajes también existen en otras culturas con diferentes nombres que los respaldan.

That was a bit of history to get up to 500 words and just in case you didn't know it. Claude, Bing, Chat-GPT, Stable Diffusion and Adobe Photoshop (IA) were the tools I used to give life and contour to this collection (except for the typography). Chat-GPT to conceptualize elements and clothing, Claude to research about its history, Stable Diffusion to generate the concept art, Bing (Image Creator) to generate the final result of each sketch and Adobe Photoshop to normalize details, put the names and fix diffusion errors of each character.

Eso fue un poco de historia, para llegar a las 500 palabras y por si acaso no la conocías. Claude, Bing, Chat-GPT, Stable Diffusion y Adobe Photoshop (IA) fueron las herramientas que usé para darle vida y contorno a esta colección (excepto la tipografía). Chat-GPT para conceptualizar elementos y vestimenta, Claude para indagar sobre su historia, Stable Diffusion para generar artes conceptuales, Bing (Image Creator) para generar el resultado final de cada boceto y Adobe Photoshop para normalizar detalles, colocar los nombres y arreglar errores de difusión de cada personaje.

There was a day that I spent almost 21 hours doing the last details, but it will have been worth it.
