[ENG-ESP] How to mint your first NFT on Rarible (STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL)

Rarible is a multi-chain marketplace of non-fungible tokens where you can tokenize and register your artworks to sell them online and without intermediaries. Find out how you can do it guided by this simple tutorial and start today to get into the world of decentralized art with these tips. Let's get started!

Rarible es un mercado de arte multicadena de tokens no fungibles donde puedes tokenizar y registrar tus obras para venderlas de forma online y sin intermediarios. Descubre cómo puedes hacerlo guiándote por este sencillo tutorial y comienza desde hoy a adentrarte en el mundo del arte descentralizado con estos tips. ¡Comencemos!

To start, you will enter to the official website of Rarible and it will appear like this, you will see a button that says Connect wallet in the upper left corner where you'll choose the network and wallet with which you will perform the whole process, in this example I will use the Polygon network with Metamask, but you can choose the one that is more feasible for you.

Para empezar, entrarás al sitio oficial de Rarible y te aparecerá así, verás un botón que dice Connect wallet en la esquina superior izquierda del mismo donde elegirás la red y la billetera con la que realizarás todo el proceso, en este ejemplo utilizaré la red de Polygon con Metamask, pero tú puedes escoger la que te sea más factible.

When you have logged in to the website, you'll see an icon where you can change your profile data including your photo (I have already edited it). Although this is not a mandatory step, it is necessary in order to reach a wider audience; transparency is the key to success here.

Cuando se haya conectado al sitio, verás un ícono donde podrás cambiar los datos de tu perfil incluyendo tu foto (a mí ya me aparece así ya que lo he editado previamente). Aunque no es un paso obligatorio sí es necesario para poder llegar a un mayor público y audiencias; la transparencia es la clave del éxito aquí.

You will put your name, artistic name or project you represent, your user name within the marketplace (avoid numbers), a short description, the link to your website (if you have one) and Twitter X profile (not mandatory but necessary).

Colocarás tu nombre, nombre artístico o proyecto al cual representas, tu nombre de usuario dentro del marketplace (evita números), una corta descripción, el enlace a tu sitio web (si tienes) y perfil de Twitter X (no obligatorio pero necesario).

Edit your profile and cover image:

And select the e-mail you'll use to receive notifications:

Choose the group of notifications you'd like to receive in your e-mail:

And that's it, let's mint! We go back to the home page and select the Create (NFT) option.

¡Y listo! ¡Vamos a mintear! Volvemos al inicio y seleccionamos la opción Create (NFT)

This panel will appear where we will choose the blockchain to use to register our work:

Nos aparecerá este panel donde escogeremos la cadena de bloques a utilizar para registrar nuestra obra:

For this example, we will use the Single option for the process:

Para este ejemplo, utilizaremos la opción Single (u obra única) para el proceso:

A form will appear where we can choose our work in JPG, GIF, MP4 or PNG formats:

Nos aparecerá un formulario donde podremos elegir nuestra obra en los formatos JPG, GIF, MP4 o PNG:

We set a fixed price according to what we think our work is worth using the main currency of the network (not in USD). Use the site CoinmarketCap to know the current value in USD of the currency you are using at the moment of the minting. Activate the option Put on marketplace so that your work appears in the searches inside the site. We also choose Rarible Singles or create a new collection:

Colocamos un precio fijo (Fixed Price) según lo que creamos que nuestra obra valga utilizando la moneda principal de la red (no en USD). Utiliza el sitio CoinmarketCap para conocer el valor actual en USD de la moneda que estés usando al momento del minting. Activa la opción Put on marketplace para que tu obra aparezca en las búsquedas dentro del sitio. Elegimos también Rarible Singles o creamos una colección nueva:

Elige la cantidad de días máximos que tu obra podrá permanecerá en venta:

You'll set a name and a representative description about your work and that it gradually connects with whoever reads it, thus, you will capture the attention of people who want to collect it if you are interested in it.

Colocarás un nombre y una descripción representativa acerca de tu obra y que la misma conecte de forma gradual con quien la lea, así, lograrás captar la atención de personas que quieran coleccionar la misma si es tu interés.

Your work will look something like this, click on Create/Mint and that's it:

Tu obra quedará algo así, le darás al botón de Create/Mint y listo:

Then your work will be uploaded to IPFS, which may take some time depending on the size of the file, after, when you finish this step, the wallet or a pop up inside your wallet will open asking for your signature to tokenize the proposed work, which you will have to confirm, so you will need an initial amount to successfully tokenize it:

Luego tu obra se subirá al IPFS, lo que puede tardar en dependencia del tamaño de archivo, acto seguido, al terminar este paso, se te abrirá la billetera o un panel dentro de tu billetera preguntando por tu firma para poder tokenizar la obra propuesta, la cual deberás confirmar, por lo que necesitarás un monto inicial para tokenizar satisfactoriamente la misma:

Note that you must have a very good connection to perform the procedure, also, in case you sign the transaction and the Mint, Approve or Put on sale panel keeps loading for more than 10 minutes, close the tab and go to your profile to find the work already done. In this case, you must confirm each transaction that the wallet asks you to continue.

Destacar que debes de tener una muy buena conexión para realizar el procedimiento, también, en caso que firmes la transacción y el panel del Mint, Approve o Put on sale se mantengan cargando por más de 10 minutos, cierra la pestaña y dirígete a tu perfil para encontrar la obra ya lista. En cierto caso, debes confirmar cada transacción que la billetera te pida para continuar.
