🇪🇸 ~ La vida nos hace llamados de atención de las maneras mas inesperadas, incluso irónicas: Cuando yo empezaba Diciembre con los niveles de motivación al 100%, con listas impecables de los siguientes proyectos DIY y una satisfactoria planificación para Enero 2026, mi computadora se ha paralizado, y se ha negado a hacer booting.
🇺🇸 ~ Life calls our attention in the most unexpected, even ironic ways: As I began December with my motivation levels at 100%, with impeccable lists of upcoming DIY projects and a satisfying plan for January 2026, my computer crashed and refused to boot up.
He sudado frío amigos ( : ౦ ‸ ౦ : ) el 2 de Diciembre pasé un susto que no le deseo a nadie, pero este no es un relato sobre lo mal que lo he pasado sino un recuento feliz de cómo con la ayuda de amigos y personas geniales pude recuperar la funcionalidad de mi preciosa laptop en lo que considero tiempo récord (considerando el nivel de "gameplay" que tenemos en Venezuela cuando se trata de solucionar imprevistos).
I broke out in a cold sweat, my friends ( : ౦ ‸ ౦ : ) On December 2, I had a scare that I wouldn't wish on anyone, but this isn't a story about how bad it was, but rather a happy account of how, with the help of friends and amazing people, I was able to restore the functionality of my precious laptop in what I consider record time, considering the level of “gameplay” we have in Venezuela when it comes to solving unexpected problems.

✦ It was very confusing; there was no way to know at home whether the problem was software or hardware ✦
Todo el martes pasado y parte del miércoles hice lo básico para intentar hacer que el sistema iniciara según la información que conseguí en internet desde mi teléfono, había muchos indicadores diferentes de las posibles causas del problema y fue claro que debía llevarla con un especialista porque no cuento en casa con el equipo necesario para por ejemplo, comprobar de manera externa la salud del disco duro (que primero arrojaba problemas, y luego no lo detectaba).
On Tuesday and Wednesday, I tried to get the system to start up using basic methods I found on the internet on my phone. There were many possible causes of the problem, and it was clear that I needed to take it to a specialist as I don't have the necessary equipment at home to check the health of the hard drive, for example, which first showed signs of problems and then could no longer be detected.

En el transcurso del día miércoles logre contactar con un técnico y profesor en computación a quien confiarle el equipo (no tengo buenas experiencias pasadas con técnicos en computación así que soy bastante desconfiada y quisquillosa después de haber perdido 2 laptops y 3 disco duro mecánicos donde tenía información importantísima), el señor me transmitió mucha seguridad y efectivamente, trato muy bien mi laptop y rápidamente dió con el problema, el disco duro había muerto y debía comprar uno nuevo.
El señor me sugirió dónde podía conseguir un nuevo SSD a precio razonable y esperé hasta el fin de semana para poder salir a hacer esa quest, porque si vives en Venezuela sabes que actualmente si quieres algo debes preguntar mucho, MUCHO, antes de decidirte a comprarlo (por lo mucho que puede variar el precio dependiendo el método de pago).
On Wednesday, I managed to find a trustworthy computer technician and teacher to look after my equipment (I haven't had good experiences with computer technicians in the past, so I'm quite distrustful and picky after losing two laptops and three mechanical hard drives containing important information). This man inspired a lot of confidence in me, and sure enough, he treated my laptop very well and quickly identified the problem: The hard drive had died and I needed to buy a new one.
He recommended a place where I could purchase a new SSD at a reasonable price. I waited until the weekend to go and buy it, because if you live in Venezuela, you know that nowadays, if you want something, you have to ask around a lot before deciding to buy it (because the price can vary greatly depending on the payment method).

✦ I think I've only been to this mall three or four times, but I really like the atmosphere there ✦

El centro comercial "Gran Bazar" es súper laberintico, pocas veces lo he visitado y es fácil perderte entre sus pasillos; no existe algo como una sección o zona de tiendas de electrónicos sino que las tiendas de distintas categorías están mezcladas aleatoriamente. Eso significa "camina y toma muchas fotos porque lo que veas se te va a olvidar" 😂 👍
The "Gran Bazar" shopping center is a huge maze. I've only been there a few times, and it's easy to get lost in its corridors. There's no such thing as an electronics section or area; instead, stores of different categories are randomly mixed together. That means “walk around and take lots of photos because you'll forget what you see” 😂 👍

Gracias a mi familia y sus buenos contactos pude conocer a un técnico en computación genial y confiable, también me acompañaron en mi mini-viaje al centro de la ciudad y fue divertido perdernos juntos en un centro comercial gigante en medio de todo el bullicio por Navidad.
Ayer mi laptop fue exitosamente reparada/renovada, mi bebé esta nuevamente conmigo, funcional y perfecta ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ Amo mucho esta laptop y no estoy ni remotamente lista para cambiar de equipo, simplemente esta me gusta mucho porque tiene todo lo que me gusta.
Thanks to my family and their good contacts, I was able to meet a great and reliable computer technician. They also accompanied me on my mini-trip to the city center, and it was fun to get lost together in a giant shopping mall amid all the Christmas hustle and bustle.
Yesterday my laptop was successfully repaired, my baby is back with me, functional and perfect ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ I love this laptop so much and I'm not even remotely ready to change my compu, I just really like this one because it has everything I like.
✦ At the beginning of this note, I mentioned that life has a way of getting your attention, and my laptop breaking down just as I was coming out of a motivational slump is a case in point. What does that mean? It means that I should appreciate the resources I have for achieving my projects and goals more, because you never know what might happen tomorrow.
