RE: Science & Morality: Where Do We Draw the Line?

I'm reading a lot about cloning with today's post prompt. Interesting viewpoints so far. I'm a Christian and believe that I am me and no-one else. If a scientist decides to make a clone of me from dead tissue and create another life form I am 100% certain that whoever it is will not be me.

God is quite capable of giving that new creation a soul and purpose even if it is created by human hands. It would just be God's grandchild instead of child ... I'm sure he would love him or her equally.

Cloning someone with the purpose of organ harvesting is another issue altogether. Create an non-living clone for the purpose of organ transplant means you could extend human life. Now if you could make a clone of yourself (without a brain) and transplant your brain into it.....Viola replace an aging body for a new one. I'd still be me but rejuvenated. Hmm.... but kind of makes me wonder how much people should be trying to extend their lives?

Anyways, enjoyed your article. Thanks for writing :)

Most of these cloned people will look exactly like the individual in terms of appearance but it will lack their memories and behaviours. That’s the good part of it. But I heard scientists are working on brain transplants and what have you. It’s a whole lot.😅

Haha, Gods grandchild .

There has never been a successful brain transplant before. That has to be the only thing stopping these scientists from doing what you’re talking about.

Let’s see what the future holds.

ChatGPT spokespeople already said that given enough access to your posts and such they could make a "backup" of a person. What happens when they can make a robot body to match.

Too much too soon if you ask me :)
