Hive Against The Backdrop Of Technology

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

We are seeing some major advancements with technology. This is something that is going to affect Hive because it is at the center of Web3, something that comprises Web 3.0.

In this video I discuss some of the concepts that are being espoused and pursued by developers. We are still working on infrastructure but there is a lot that is going to be built which will impact Hive.

Hey Task. I'm not sure if this is the post that is relevant to the A.I. stuff you've spoken of most recently, so please forgive the utter lack of organization, but I'm curious... how long do you think it will be before someone builds an A.I. bot that we can run for Congress?

I know lawyers and judges are likely to be the first replaced, since all they do is argue and interpret what is written down, rather than write anew, but if you had to take a wild guess how long do you think it will be before someone designs a bot that can legitimately take a position on a political issue?

Yesterday. LOL

Interesting question. There are so many layers to this discussion. It is more than just building the bot and the decision tree. It is confidence in that. I wrote an article this morning that talked about this. We have to start small.

I think as people engage in governance issues and see the validity to what blockchain offers, i.e. trust in a trustless environment, things will spread.

As for the main point, I think before you have a bot in Congress, government will be replaced by the DAOs.

Lmao!! You could've stopped here and still have offered a legit answer.

Maybe, but I wonder if A.I. powered Congressional assistance apps won't come along to start handling the mundane stuff while it trains to take on more of the work until we find out all of congress pretty much just defers to a chatbot... which we're sure to elect our leader. 😁

I mean you could probably replace some of the mundane. The problem is the Senate is older than dirt. Look at McConnell.

So I am sure there will be aspects where it is embraced but in terms of governance, I dont think it happens. I think we end up with replacing government with DAOs.

The speaker emphasizes that DAOs are not solely for profit but also for resource management. He explores various potential applications of DAOs, including research departments and artistic endeavors. The speaker expresses skepticism towards Ethereum's suitability for certain functions due to high fees and suggests that Hive could offer a more cost-effective alternative for certain use cases. The video concludes with a thought-provoking reflection on the authenticity of creations in the age of technology and the potential role of NFTs in confirming authorship.

Detailed Article:

The video opens with a discussion on the evolution of technology within the context of Hive's technological advancements. The speaker elaborates on his recent article about the changing landscape of labor, categorizing labor into three types: unskilled labor, skilled labor, and cognitive labor. He highlights the increasing automation of unskilled tasks through technologies like robots, which could potentially replace many manual labor jobs. The speaker then shifts the focus to the vulnerability of cognitive labor to advancements in chat GPT technology, which can provide answers and potentially replace certain expertise-based jobs.

Moving on, the speaker delves into the concept of DAOs and their significance in the future. He explains that DAOs are primarily designed for resource management rather than profit-making, exemplifying how DAOs can be utilized in research or artistic endeavors. The speaker emphasizes that DAOs could revolutionize how resources are managed and allocated, with governance structures guiding resource distribution among token holders.

The discussion then turns to Ethereum and its limitations, particularly in terms of high fees for transactions. The speaker suggests that Hive could offer a more cost-effective solution for certain applications, such as supply chain management. He questions whether entities engaged in supply chain management would be willing to pay substantial fees for each transaction, hinting at potential inefficiencies within the Ethereum network for such use cases.

Towards the end of the video, the speaker touches on the authenticity of creations in the digital age, raising thought-provoking questions about distinguishing between human and machine-generated content. He suggests the potential use of NFTs as a means of verifying authorship, ensuring that creations are attributed to their rightful creators.

In conclusion, the video provides a comprehensive analysis of Hive's technological advancements, the evolving landscape of labor, the potential of DAOs for resource management, challenges with Ethereum's fee structure, and the implications of technology on authenticity and authorship. The speaker's insights offer a unique perspective on the intersection of technology, labor, and decentralized systems like Hive in shaping the future of work and resource management.
