There are AI tools to check for AI generated articles, but I agree that eventually those won't be able to tell the difference as well. I agree that aside from established authors that people really like, the popular ones will be celebrities that decide to transfer to Hive. It will be similar to YT. Sure there will be some who can make themselves know because of great content, but with the different AI tools available, everyone will be in similar playing fields.
