All your liquid are belong to me

I just entered the lottery for the first time in I do not know how long. Don't worry, this isn't my new investment strategy and I didn't sink my life savings into it, just a couple euros for a bit of fun and the possibility.

Pretty much nearly all of my investments are crypto based and I am going long, so sometimes it is nice to have something that has a little bit more of an immediate feedback to it. do you think I will win?

That is 17.2 million dollars and if the liquid STEEM holders were willing to sell at the current price of 16 cents, I would then be able to buy up 107,500,000 STEEM, which would leave only 20M liquid. Of course, it can't happen that way as to buy that kind of volume of coin it would push the price to the moons of Saturn. I wonder what the total price would be if all coins on exchanges with a sell were insta-bought at whatever price they currently are set at.

Yep, I entered the lottery and when I do win, I will sink some amount into STEEM and then see if with a significant stake I would be able to make a difference on the platform. I am pretty sure I could, because I would concurrently have the off-chain resources to simultaneously hire a team of devs to build various applications. I know some good people well suited to do this, even if they do not know much about blockchain as of yet.

It'd be great to have a dedicated Steem Team who didn't give a toss about the reward pool or the politics and concentrated all of their efforts on building the best apps the blockchain could handle. I know that there are people trying to do this too, but most still have to feed themselves and their family in some way, so need support. If a group of devs from Google decided to use their 20% time on Steem development, what would they come up with?

I believe that if enough developers sunk their teeth in to build beautiful and compelling experiences, the innovation would accelerate quickly as they compound against each other. Of course, the applications would still need a user base and therefore efforts would have to go into onboarding large volumes of willing users.

While a struggle currently, I do not think that this is going to be a large issue in the coming couple years and it won't just be because of price increases. I think that crypto in general will start to get mainstream adoption and the projects that have use case will attract users, and Steem does have use case as a social network and a host of apps (current and potential) that support people of all kinds. I believe that this is going to be massively attractive and the economics will play its part in this of course and especially as global economies collapse.

But, we aren't there yet and "there" is still largely unknown or at least, is relatively blurry with many variables involved. I actually think that this in itself is a strength of the Steem blockchain, as while many projects look to solve a narrow problem, Steem can solve multiple and due to the social aspect of it, could empower other blockchains.

I am not sure how many people spend time thinking about this, but a lot of the other projects do not have clear spaces created for their community and well, we have communities that can offer them not only that space, but various kinds of tokenized experiences that can help them better serve their investors and active users. There was once a vision of Steem being the home of crypto, and this is made possible through managed communities.

Crypto is just one niche however and it can house and present much more than a narrow set in blog form and one of the things that I am really looking forward to is integration with existing websites. wouldn't it be awesome to have Steem-based upvote buttons distributed all over the internet through widgets and extensions that can be easily added with a click or two.

But, I digress...

This post was about me entering the lottery in the hope that my family can buy (or build) a home that we will love for years to come. We aren't fancy people and we definitely do not need anywhere near 15.6 million euros, but the the amount we do need is just as out of reach anyway, so may as well go big.

Talking of going big...

When crypto really starts to get adopted, the prices on some of these coins are going to be much higher than you might have imagined in your wildest dreams. While someone has to win the lottery eventually, what I love about Steem is - if one wins, we all do.

I should look at some houses. I will up the max price limit on the search in anticipation of the win.

@tarazkp, ... I do the lottery every time its something like a triple rollover, .. if you're going to win better win super big I say, .. as yet the maximum iv had is 10 Euros, .. so maybe mine is the next one. you'll know because ill probably hit steem with a massive buy, ... until then small increments on pullbacks is my game... good luck with your numbers, if you don't know the result yet! :-)

I found out the results and it is as expected... no main winner which really can only mean that I am meant to win next week. I put in games with the same numbers for the next couple weeks.

My conspiracy theory:

Foreigners can't win the lottery here unless they buy them from a shop with cash. In 16 years, I have never heard of a foreigner winning but we make up 5% of the population. I figure... they know my name and it doesn't sound local... I blame me not winning the lottery on racism ;D

It isn't quite as exciting, but you should have look at the no loss lottery at PoolTogether if you have some spare DAI. The payout is significantly smaller though...

I've never found out how to enter the lottery. At work there was a syndicate and I just had to handover £12 a month ... now they've all gone. Is there something they haven't told me?

:D I think I laughed too much at that... :)

Someone in the suburb I live won something like 48 million - I am guessing they moved. s
