I learnt this particular topic in organic chemistry and I must say I really find it hard to understand then

Thanks for stopping by. The planetary model of the atom is a representation of the atom proposed by Ernest Rutherford in 1911. This model leads to the refutation of Thomson's atomic model, but even the planetary model was not a definitive theory.
