STEMsocial Distilled - Lorem Ipsum

Knock knock!

This is @gentleshaid bringing you some of the best contents in the STEMsocial community published in this past week. If you have not been up to date with publications in the community, our weekly distilled collates the top 5 most engaged posts and ensure that you do not miss much.

Wondering what the theme for this week is all about? I will give a token of 1 hive to the first person that will give a convincing explanation of the theme (I mean the words, Lorem Ipsum. Note! A simple Google explanation will not do it. OK, I am increasing the price to 2 hive.

Just like I stated in the previous week:

The STEMsocial community is one of the oldest curation projects on the Hive blockchain. Our area of focus include science, technology, engineering, mathematics, psychology, history, and architecture. You can learn more about the community here on hive chain or hop into our Discord server to interact with the management and the authors in the community one on one.

For more emphasis, posts that make it into our weekly distilled are selected based on their levels of engagements, starting from the most engaged and as a general rule, when there are enough posts to select from, a single author is not featured in consecutive distilled to allow for more inclusion.

Below are the posts that made it into this week's distilled:

Our top choices

Haymaking: Method of fodder preservation.

Our first featured post for this week is a literary interpretation of the popular saying make hay while the sun shines. @amestyj took us through the process of fodder preservation in the times of surplus that has to do with reducing the moisture contents of fodders to as low as 20 to 15% by drying under the sun. The dos and donts of the process were highlighted. The post is not just a good read, but a very educative and beneficial one, espcially for those that may be thinking of going into animal rearing in the nearest future.

The MIRACLE SOURSOP

It is always amazing when a new user make our distilled. Coming second in the number of unique comments for this week is this post an assistant professor that just joined our community, @hdigitals. Inspired by the presence of the plant in his compound, the post explores both the nutritional benefits and various ways by which the soursop fruit can be consumed.

Composite dark matter at collider-cosmology crossroads

Another professor featuring and who else can it be than our amiable founder of stemsocial and particle physicist, @lemouth. After a little time off the chain, he is back blogging about particle physics and this time, it is about composite dark matter from the point of view of one of his scientific publications. Subscribe to his blog and engage him if discussion on dark matter is what you are looking for.

What is directional drilling in oil well construction?

A lesson on oil drilling from one of the engineers in our community. @carlos84 explains the concept of directional drilling when it comes to oil wells, the challenges and when it becomes preferrable to other methods of drilling. A well written and explanatory note on the subject

An Overview of Adjustment Disorders in Children and Adolescence

Every living organism must find a way to constantly adjust to their environment because the environment keep changing. Changes to the environment can be natural or man-made. However, some humans may find it difficult to adjust to changes in life. It has a medical term and ways in which it is diagnosed. @jsalvage tells us more.

As usual, all rewards earned on the distilled posts are used to fund the STEMsocial project functioning and activities. The author of the distilled, who may be any STEMsocial member depending on the week, gets 30% of the rewards of this post. Moreover, this week @raj808 gets 7% for the usage of his image. If you like what we do, please consider joining our community on HIVE and delegating to the @stemsocial account (85% of the curation rewards are returned), or trailing it.

Have fun!
