Stone Paper - the latest generation paper
Description
As a small Christmas gift from a supplier I received this Pininfarina diary. The paper with which the sheets of this diary are made is called stone paper. This type of paper is waterproof or water-repellent. Water and red wine cannot attack or wet these sheets. This material is very resistant.
Less water is consumed to produce Stone Paper compared to the production of normal paper.
To date, this paper is considered a valid alternative to traditional paper as it is more environmentally friendly.
This is a latest generation paper and is also called mineral paper. This paper is made of 80% shredded calcium carbonate, stone dust (from which it takes its name) and 20% high density polyethylene (HDPE).
I also tried to photograph it up close to try to show you the velvety effect of the surface of the sheets.
The characteristics of this paper do not end here, in fact it does not reflect light, is long-lasting and biodegradable.

Come piccolo regalo di Natale da un fornitore ho ricevuto questa agenda firmata Pininfarina. La carta con cui sono fatti i fogli di questa agenda è chiamata stone paper. Questa tipologia di carta è impermeabile o idrorepellente. Acqua e vino rosso non riescono ad intaccare o a bagnare questi fogli. Questo materiale è molto resistente.
Per produrre la Stone Paper si consuma meno acqua rispetto alla produzione della carta normale.
Ad oggi questa carta viene ritenuta una valida alternativa alla carta tradizionale in quanto è più ecologica.
Questa è una carta di ultimissima generazione e viene anche chiamata carta minerale. Questa carta è composta all’80% di carbonato di calcio triturato, polvere di pietra (da cui prende il nome) e dal 20% di polietilene ad alta densità (HDPE).
Ho provato a fotografarla anche da vicino per cercare di mostrarvi l’effetto vellutato della superficie dei fogli.
Le caratteristiche di questa carta non finiscono qui infatti essa non riflette la luce, è durevole nel tempo e biodegradabile.

This is the first time I've heard of this, and at first I thought it was pretty cool. I did a quick research, and it isn't actually as good as it is touting itself to be. It still uses plastic for every page; the stone powder is used with the plastic to create the page. I've seen differing inputs on it as well. Some say it is recyclable because it has plastic, some say it is photodegradable and turns to dust when exposed to the sun for a long time, but can stay that way in landfills. Some say it is not accepted in recycling plants because of its composition. Some say recycled paper is still the way to go. At the end of the day, I just hope we make more strides into improving how we treat the planet as a whole. If this is the best way, then I hope they improve on it further.

Ne avevo sentito parlare, ma non ne ho avuto mai una fra le mani. Quello che mi lascia perplesso è la facoltà di scrittura su di esso. Secondo me non tutte le penne sono adatte, forse lo sono più le matite. Ma a queste domande puoi provare a rispondere tu.
Più o meno va bene tutto per scriverci sopre, l’unica cosa che ho notato è che quando si usano le matite e si ha il tratto un po’ pesante, anche cancellando rimane il segno di ciò che si era scritto. Posso confermare che la carta è idrorepellente.

Yes, this paper is heavier than normal paper, but I confirm that it is water repellent. I saw it with my own eyes. Thanks for the tip on using the STEM tag
