I mostly agree, but on the other hand it is sad, if we have to sensationalize science and focus only on the most spectacular or weird aspects. The edge of science is not always entertaining to the masses (e.g. who is interested in the MOF-cages who just were awarded a nobel price) and by the way the masses are anyway not reading on Hive.
Even if we would share cat videos (or whatever is trending nowadays) on Hive, we would not reach "the masses" anytime soon.
So this trend to infotainment which is also in other media ongoing since decades, is a slippery slope on the way to reduce the level of mental clarity and thinking power of the typical reader.
By the way, I use this blog not with a hope to bring masses to Hive (which is delusional) but as a diary rather to document what was going on in the 2020ies, but that´s only my personal view.
This was a rather old post, back when Hive had potential for growth, Stemsocial had a huge influx of writers, and we wanted to encourage that growth in the right direction rather than spam. Obviously it's no longer relevant.
That being said, it was never to pander to edutainment. The point is being able to express one's own passion for the subject you're writing about, otherwise you're just doing a WebMD 'illness, causes, symptoms, treatment' wiki list - or nowadays, an AI copypasta.
Entiendo tu planteamiento, pero hay una falla en la plataforma, y lo digo como novato, es muy limitado eso del RC así que tienes elegir entre publicar o comentar o votar, porque te dan muy poco margen de maniobra, además de que para solicitar más RC uno tiene irse a otro montón de plataformas o cuentas en Discord, y si no has estados en ese medio antes, pues no es tan sencillo. Deberían mejorar la interfaz para que uno tenga más RC para poder hacer tanto post nuevos como votación y comentarios. Y otra cosa, dado que estoy haciendo post sobre inteligencia artificial en temas sociales, creo que nadie ha evaluado el potencial de ver como interactuan las AI entre ellas. La gente sólo ordenes, no ve los procesos de ánalisis que hay detrás y es mi aporte, algo que podrían aportar la gente quiera explorar el tema.
