Unveiling the Shocking Truth About My IT Break!

It is beginning to feel like the long-awaited IT, which I have always thought would be a very free time for me, is a SCAM! Yeah, I would not be going to school every day like I used to on normal school activities, and yes, I would not write exams, but starting to look at what I would be involved in during this 4-month plus break, it would be rugged.

At first, I planned on using the break to continue my learning on Cloud Computing and Video editing, but it looks like I would not only be doing that but also have to add a new set of knowledge to it. Not that it is something I am willing to do, but I have to do it as a requirement for the completion of my final year project.

Yesterday, my project supervisor requested that all the students he is supervising see him so that we could discuss and have our project given. At first, I thought the meeting would be online when he dropped the message in the WhatsApp group late last week, but luckily for me, I had something to do in school that made me able to meet up with the meeting in time when I discovered it was not online as I thought it would be.

We all got together, and he asked us if we had any projects in mind. I was totally blank as I just finished exams, and the next thing on my mind can never be what project to do next as I have been hesitating to rest from anything concerning school. Since no one had any project in mind, he grouped us into 3 groups, making a total of 4 groups because he is supervising a total of 12 students, and gave each group a project topic.

My project topic is something that I am totally new to and have no idea how to go about it. I was given a project on the "Development of a Drone-Based Maize Plant Detection and Disease Identification System.". From the name, you would know I would have to make a drone have a feature to detect a maize plant and also Identify what type of Disease the maize plant may have.

For my research, I would need to go into Machine learning and the use of Convolutional Neural networks. I don't know sh*t about Machine learning, but I believe I can learn anything if I want to, and in this type of scenario, I have to.

I am only worried about how I would be able to continue my learning on cloud computing while at the same time progressively learning all I need to complete my final year project. We were told that our project needed to be ready after our IT, which is crazy, and we have already been given the task of submitting research on how to develop this project by tomorrow.

Would I call this a break or another phase of stress? I am to build a project that I was not taught anything related to while in school.

Anyway, all will be well in the end. I have a new task to fulfil, and at the same time, I would try my best to manage my time to be able to balance my learning in these different fields alongside my activities on Hive and the running of my Hive Project.

It would not be easy, but it is definitely possible to accomplish!
