Choosing the Best Power Bank in Nigeria: A Comprehensive Review of Oraimo and New Age Options
New Age and Oraimo are two popular brands in Nigeria; you will always find someone using either one of the two brands anywhere you find yourself. Even though New Age seemed to have started the industry in Nigeria long before Oraimo, Oraimo seemed to be the most loved and bought product in Nigeria. I can't say for everyone, but I bought and used over 10 Oraimo products, ranging from power banks to smartwatches, earpods, keyboards, smart alarms, and Oraimo selfie sticks. In fact, I have plans to buy an Oraimo watch soon.
Right now, I want to get another power bank, and this time I am looking into getting something light and mobile. I am deciding whether to get a New Age power bank this time or an Oraimo power bank. To conclude on my choice, I decided to visit the websites of both companies to see how much I can get for a 10,000-mah powerbank that has a cable attached to it since I don't want to be worrying about carrying or not carrying a cable.
Today I will be reviewing four powerbanks: two from Oraimo and two from New Age. I would spell out their specifications and then make my choice based on the specifications and price of the device.
Let's begin with:
Oraimo Slice Link 10000mAh 12W Power Bank
This is the Oraimo Slice Link Power Bank; it looks sweet, isn't it? I would have just ordered this power bank, but since I recently bought a 40,000 mah Oraimo Power Bank, I felt like checking out others like the new-age power bank.
Its highlighted specifications listed are: 5000 Bend Lifespan, 4 Outputs, Widely Compatible, and lastly, Slim and Portable.
Here is the specification of the power bank.

This power bank has two inputs, which means you can charge it either using your type C charger or your micro USB charger. Also, as for the output, you can see it has a total of 4 outputs, which means you can charge up to 4 devices at the same time with this power bank.
With this power bank, you get three in-built cables that can charge any type of device you have and also give you an extra USB port to plug in a fourth device. This is very interesting...
The Ratings
We use the ratings to know how fast the power bank can charge our device, or even how fast the power bank can get charged. The maximum power this power bank can charge other devices with is 5V x 2.4A, which is 12W. This is why the 12W was written to describe the power bank on the company's website.
Now let's check out the New Age Chargers...
Power Station 12500mAh Power Bank (With In-built Cables)
I find the design of this power bank to be really sleek and attractive compared to the Oraimo Slice Link power bank. The interesting difference between this power bank and the Oraimo Slice Link is that this power bank gives you 12,500 mah battery power, which is 2,500 mah more power for the same price that the Oraimo Slick Link offers.
With this power bank, you also get a led display on which you can easily monitor the battery level of your power bank.

This power bank has just a single input, which means there is only one way to charge the power bank, which is by using the USB type C charger, while for the outputs, it has three output mediums, which can be through either the in-built type C or lightning cable or the available USB-A type port.
The Ratings
This power bank gives up to 15W (5V x 3A), which means it would charge faster than the Oraimo Slice Link.
Now let's check out our next Oraimo power bank.
Oraimo Slice Link Pro 10000mAh 22.5W Power Bank
Here is the pro version of the Oraimo Slice Link power bank, which offers faster charging by providing a higher power rating of 22.5W. Let's check out the power bank notification.

This power bank has two inputs and five outputs. With its rating, this power bank would give your device a quick charge. It has different charging options and ratings for each option. The charging options here include the USB charging port, type C, and the three available in-built charging cables. This is awesome...
The Ratings
The input port has a maximum of 18W, and the output port can charge your device up to 22.5W if you are making use of the in-built type C cable. If you are making use of the type C output port or lightning cable, then you would get a maximum of 20W charging and 15W charging if you were making use of the normal USB port or the micro USB cable.
As you can see, they made a big time charging boost on this power bank.
J175-10K 12500mAh Power Bank (With In-built Cables)
Now here is the last power bank review. While scrolling through the New Age Power Bank Catalogue, I got to see this beauty. Although not looking as sleek as the first New Age power bank I reviewed,. Let's move on to seeing the specifications.
Just like the New Age Power Station, this power bank also comes with an LED display, which is a plus for me.
Specifications | Ratings |

Price | $10.5 |
The Inputs and Outputs
This power bank has two inputs and four outputs available to charge your device. With the lightning cable, you don't get more than 12W charging, but using the other ports, you get a range of 15W to 22.5W charging power on your device.
You pretty much get the same charging power that the Oraimo Slice Link Pro offers, but for a cheaper price. Just that you don't get the extra Micro-USB cable that the Oraimo power bank offers, but for that kind of difference in price, I think it probably worth it.
What would be your choice?
If you were to choose for me, or better yet, for yourself, out of these 4 power banks, which would you choose, understanding the different specs that these power banks offers?
Oraimo and new age are two competitors that I feel oraimo are the making new age run a race now because they are now beginning to relax.. Judging from what you shared now, I feel going for new age will be a better option considering the output and the charging rate which it has also for it capacity.
Yeah the New Age offers up to 22.5W charging for a much cheaper price as compared to the Oraimo.
Yeah, New age has good devices also, just that they tend to fuck up sometimes.
Well, it's simple for me, depending on the device you wish to charge with the power bank, I'd advise you go with new age because the aim of getting this power bank is for convenience.
Since the new age is a bit cheaper than the Oriamo then I'd advise you go for the new age and at least try a new product too, hehe. Our Oriamo ambassador 🥰
Brother, I think that it's really cool that they have in-built cables as that would ensure optimum charging rate. And it's good that they have USB ports as well, else it wouldn't have been so great, then.
They all seem like they are pretty close in specs, but maybe the Slice Link Pro would be the best out of them all. Very comprehensive comparison between them, man.
Ok o, mine is to learn from the comments because I know not enough to give advice.
Regards all.
Cheers
I'd have advised you to get the Slice link pro, but I don't really trust Oraimo powerbanks anymore so I'll just recommend you get the J175.
I never thought about this being a larger thing in Africa with the infrastructure being different than America.
So I'm ignorant not condescending when I speak on this topic. Is solar power a thing? Are batteries more expensive in Africa?
Yeah solar power is a thing in Africa but not many can afford getting a solar power device.
Can you make them? Order them in parts or use other technology to piece it together?
What about wind? How costly is it to obtain small solar powered devices?
yeah should be possible to do that. To make them..
Ok. Let's look into that. I'm imaging the United States homeless could use them also.
It would be a great help for them. Do you want to make something portable?
The issue is would it be cheaper to find the someone who makes them already? You have to factor in labor costs and human error in assembling them per user.

Which one would help the most?
I think these are solar panels... What I think is that you should check youtube on how to create a solar inverter or power station and check out the lists of compoinents to know how to build one.
You don't need an inverter for solar. Phones charge on DC and inverter changes it to AC. A rectifier turns AC to DC. So you could charge devices regardless of location
Yeah, I know about this. I was talking about an inverter in case you want to power bigger appliances, like maybe the TV or something more. I don't know much about solars, but from the ones I have seen, they make use of an inverter.
You need an inverter to power anything that requires Alternating Current. I was referring to a way to charge devices so things like the power bank you were mentioning could then become more useful. You would have a mobile power supply. So in theory you should never have a dead battery.
I've never thought of going through all this details while buying power bank, I always follow the crowd but I've been able to understand more thanks to you and if I were to choose, I think I will go for the new age J175-10k at this point.
To Ms it really isn't a competition, New age is quite the eyecatcher and since the mAh is better than the oraimo, you should get it.
4 charging slots for 10kW powerbank?
So your friends and gees would see you as the good Samaritan and power plug😂
