The Farewell Day of My College Life: Reminiscing The Chemistry in My LIfe

Greetings to everyone! I have not posted anything for more than a fortnight now. This is because I was busy for few of my tests and also was heavily indulged in my project work. But, nevertheless I am here today to write something about my last formal day at my Master degree life. This is about yesterday, when the farewell of 2021-2023 batch was conducted. As you know that I am a final year master degree student, so not many days are left to be officially post graduate. This was a general farewell, that means all other departments were there too. It was indeed special to bid adieu to them, though I will be lying if I say that I did not feel any twinge of sadness.

It was very hot yesterday, the temperature reached about 42°C. I had took out my motorbike from the garage, and circumventing the heat wave, I made my way towards my college. As my college is around 30 kilometers from my house, I go to college with my ride mostly. On the way, I picked my friend Musta from his home and there it is, we reached our college.

We gathered together first at our lab, as this place is very close to us. We have talked, laughed and reminisce our old memories in that very lab. We have had, countless lab experiments, practicals in that lab, and finally we are about to leave that place for good. As the chat went on, our laughter faded away and we got emotional. But this is about leaving the college or the lab physically, emotionally we will always remain attached to the memories we have collected there. It won't be easy for anyone to forget about the legacy left behind by your very own college.

Then, we went onto enjoy the farewell fiesta organised by our juniors and union body. Numerous performances were performed and we enjoyed every bit of it. Now, on a serious note, I would like to thank all my teachers, because of them I am here today. We interacted with our teachers and principal as well. They blessed us and wish us for our future endeavour. We were also presented with a sweet memento with our name on it.

I have learnt chemistry for the past 5 years and actually I am still learning and exploring it with the passage of each day. This magical science turns an ordinary people into a mad scientist. I mean who else can say they have willingly set things on fire, created explosions and smelled things that should have never been smelled? We have seen it all, done it all. From beautiful crystals forming to volatile mixtures that have given us more than a few heart stopping moments.

Thankfully, we have had our fair share of laughter to balance those heart pounding experiences. We can't forget the time we accidentally created a new shade of purple during an experiment. We were so excited until we realized, it was just a grape juice that had spilled into the beaker. Mixing different chemicals and seeing the change of colour to even breaking glass apparatus may sound nostalgic to this day.

Chemistry has given us a new perspective on life my friends. remember when we were convinced that every liquid in a bottle was some mysterious concoction we could analyze? We found ourselves checking the ingredients of our sanitizers and even questioned ourselves the composition of soaps and detergents! A normal person may see a meal, we see a complex matrix of reactions waiting to happen.

Chemistry has been the catalyst that brought us together, and as we part ways, it's really hard not to feel a twinge of sadness. We have spent countless hours in the laboratory, learning from one another, supporting each other during failures and celebrating our success. It's really bittersweet to say good bye to the place that has become our second home.

It was really emotional for not just me but for each and every one of us. On the other hand, this is just a beginning to our journey. As we move onto the next chapter of our lives, let us carry the spirit of discovery, the tenacity to solve even the trickiest equations and the courage to embrace the unknown. Remember, the world is a vast laboratory, waiting for us to unravel it's secrets.

To our incredible professors who have tirelessly shared their knowledge, guided us through complex experiments and tolerated our occasional lab-mishaps- THANK YOU! Although thank you is just an eight letter word and might not carry the true love we have for them. But these people will always motivate us to do good in life. They have sparked our curiosity and inspired us to pursue greatness. We would not be the chemist we are today without their unwavering support.

And finally to my fellow graduates, you have made this journey unforgettable. As we part ways, let's take a moment to celebrate the memories we have created and hold onto the bonds we have forged. We may go our separate ways, pursuing different paths, but the love for chemistry will always connect us.

Cheers to the countless hours spent in the lab, the experiments that made us question our sanity and the friendship that will last a lifetime.

We shall meet again.
