ChatGPT’s Billion-Dollar Flex: Is This the AI Gold Rush?

Hello guys, have you seen what ChatGPT has been pulling off lately? I just stumbled on this and had to gist you real quick. Since its mobile app launched in May 2023, it has raked in a jaw-dropping $2 billion globally. That’s not a typo two billion dollars. And get this: that’s about 30 times more than what other AI apps like Claude, Copilot, and Grok have made. Wild, right?
Now let’s zoom in on 2025 alone. ChatGPT made $1.35 billion this year a 673% jump from last year. That’s like going from okra soup to full-on buffet overnight. They’re averaging $193 million per month now, compared to just $25 million before. I mean, that’s not growth that’s a rocket launch 🚀.
Each app install brings in $2.91 on average, but U.S. users are really going all in, spending up to $10 per download. And they account for 38% of the total revenue. Americans are clearly not playing when it comes to AI.
It’s crazy how far ahead ChatGPT is in both usage and revenue. Like, it’s not even a race anymore it’s just them cruising in a Bugatti while the rest of the AI are still tuning their engines.
But here’s what I’m wondering, with all this hype and cash flying around, are we witnessing the birth of a new tech empire? Or is this just the beginning of something even bigger?
What do you think? is AI the new oil, or are we just scratching the surface of what’s possible?
I believe we are already living in the future
That's AI future.
