What Do You Know About Rabies | Let's Clear The Air And Know Why The Dogs Die Actually
I guess one of the popular information we know about the dog's death is that it is a punishment from God / Nature for biting humans.
I know most of us are familiar with the superstition going around about the context above.
Many have their own theories anyway but did you believe that?
Like seriously?
How many humans get punished for doing the wrong thing talk more of punishing the animals for something wrong it did?
Do not tell me you believed this😳
I Guess You Did😂
There is no problem, you won't be punished because you believed it, I will pardon you because I myself believed it, hehe
Like c'mon, it sounds so good and true to be a lie nor a superstition 😂
Let's Discuss Rabies Virus
From the little I know about rabies, it is a deadly virus that spreads to humans from the saliva of infected animals when one gets bitten.
Hence, it is a zoonotic disease.
It is important to note that dogs are not the only animal that spreads Rabies virus.
Bats, Coyotes, foxes, skunks and Raccoons also spread it to humans when they get bitten.
This is titled a deadly virus because once the symptoms shows up, the fatality rate is 100% and it is without cure once the symptoms shows up.
Why Does Dog Bite Most Times?
Non infected dogs rarely bites people unprovoked but then, once a dog is infected with Rabies Virus, there are some important symptoms to note that occurs in the body system of the dog.
SYMPTOMS:
- Aggressiveness
- Irritability
- Restlessness
Now these symptoms makes the dog to be easily provoked and wants to bite any living thing it sees ( humans inclusive).
When it bites the person, the person becomes infected with the virus until proven otherwise.
Why Does The Dog Dies
Once a dog contracts Rabies Virus, the virus quickly makes it's way to the central nervous system and finally to the brain as it progresses very fast to death.
At this point, the dog has roughly 2-15days to live.
You now know
A dog doesn't die because of some punishment we think but rather it dies because it was meant to die anyway.
What Kills The Victim
Just the way the dog died because of the virus, the same way leads to the death of the victim.
SYMPTOMS
- Aggressiveness
- Fever
- Paralysis
- Muscle spasms
- Headache
- Mental confusion
- The person might salivate also
TREATMENT
The best treatment remains to avoid the dog's bite
Run as fast as you can
Spread sand all you want to scare it away😂😂
Always use the vaccine for your dog to prevent Rabies.
When you tried your best but one way or the other, you got bitten by the dog, wash the wound site with detergent and water very well and rush to your physician or doctor.
Prevention is always better than cure
I might have missed some important information about Rabies that you would like to add

So rabies infects saliva now I know this today thought it was some kind of disease in the body.
Thank you for your sharing this got new knowledge from this.
Nope
It doesn't affect saliva
It's mode of transmission is the saliva rather
When the dog or other infected animal bites you,the virus enters our body through their saliva of course on the open wound they have given us.
Then the virus finds its way to our system.
Do you understand?
Now I get

.Even if its play, I can never go near a dog. A dog bit my bumbum as a kid. Since then, I don't try to go close to them
Lol, am glad the dog wasn't affected or you were treated?
I was taken to a chemist. He gave me injections and some drugs.
Wow, that's cool.
Lucky you

Well
Not everyone has the gift of calming a dog down
Maybe you said it because you have dealt with many dogs so you can actually think ahead of them
Thanks for your engaging feedback 🤩
Hmm, I try not to provoke dogs when I pass them 😅
Oh, that's the secret anyway
As a dog mum I know the importance and no I would never run from a dog. I know that here it’s Mandatory to get them checked and vaccinated especially for that.
Also when you enter the country with a dog, we just saw that with the two people who came to Holland from Ukraine with a dog.
Making it mandatory to vaccinate dogs will definitely be very good idea but over here in Nigeria, no one checks it actually and that is why we fall victim to rabies
Yes all for safety
Rabies is really scary. I remember as kids, we heard lots of crazy stories that once a dog bites you, you start barking like one. No one told us it was only a dog that has rabies that can make human bark like a dog and so we were afraid of anything dog.
A lot of adults are still afraid of dogs today but my question is, if a dog needs to get bitten to contact rabies, then where does rabies come from or where did it originate from?
We've heard a lot of crazy things Indeed 😂
I also heard the same thing as a kid
A dog doesn't need to get bitten before it contacts rabies.
Rabies is a virus.
Just the way we have many viral Diseases that affects us as humans like HIV,influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, Hepatitis A, Rotavirus and so on, rabies virus affects dogs
You understand?
I understand but virus needs a medium through which it spreads and it usually starts from somewhere, perhaps an animal or something. I'm more like asking for the origin, where it started and how but perhaps that information is not also available.
Anyways thanks for the information
You are welcome
Tracing the disease back if it's what you are asking certainly means me telling you about the first appearance in Boston 1768
Is that what you were asking?
Thanks a lot for reading, I appreciate
I am always afraid of dogs and so, I try avoiding one and once I see a dog coming closer to me, I quickly pick up a stone to scare the dog away because I can´t run, if I do, there is a possibility I get bitten by it. So, the best is to scare the dog away with an object or perhaps sand just as you have said.
Dreemport brought me to your post.
Yep, the best is definitely to scare the dog away but there are some species of dogs nowadays that don't fear at all😂
Wait. I started fearing dogs when one of the dogs we used to be comfortable with as a child bite me... Does that mean he had been infected with rabies then?
I am asking because I still wonder what came over him that day since we were close and could literally visit those folks at any time.
Lol... It's very unlikely it's infected
If it was infected, you couldn't have lived up until now without adequate treatment.
Rabies virus kills very fast
Oh no, I was supposed to be dead by now? 🥺😳🙆😅😅
Don't laugh ooo 😂😂😂
What else can I do kwanu 🤣
