The Theatre Is A Fascinating Place
The theatre! A fascinating place to be Indeed.
Someone might wonder where exactly is this theatre that I'm saying it's a fascinating place to be despite the current hardship people are passing through, so where exactly is a theatre?
An operating theater (also known as an Operating Room, operating suite, operation suite, or Operation Theatre) is a facility within a hospital where surgical operations are carried out in an aseptic environment.
According to here
Oh yep, I didn't mean the theatre for dramas, heheh.. well, it might also be a fascinating place to be anyway but for today, let's explore the Hospital Operating Theatre.
As a medical student, my life is entwined with the theatre as I definitely would have to visit there atleast once every week for one surgical procedure or another.
Some days, it's really not a good experience but sometimes, it comes out as a great experience and I will be happy I witnessed that.
To me, the theatre is really a fascinating place to be for the following reasons;
It might not make sense to someone who hasn't been there because the mental picture most persons have about the theatre is blood and then you could question how a place always filled with blood be sterile...
The hospital is among the most sterile place on earth and the reason is very simple.
The patient's skin will be opened up and internal organs exposed, this is a great medium for direct transmission of infections, so imagine when proper precautions aren't taken and the patient ends up with de novo infection when you were trying to save him or her and might even die from the secondary infection not from the sickness that lead to the surgery.
For an equipment to get into the theatre means it has passed through thorough process of sterilization and handled with other sterilized forceps not even the barehands.
isn't it fascinating?
Where's the calmest place you've ever been to, just name it and I'll tell you it's never comparable to the theatre ,hehe.
When we came to the theatre for the first time 3years ago, we thought it was business as usual and were making noise (that was before the patient was wheeled in though) unknown to us that where we were was a "no noise area".
I can't forget that day because the Operating surgeon came and was surprised where the whole noise was coming from, when he saw it was medical students, he told us all to leave the theatre and that was the end... Ever since then, we learnt our lessons.
This is indeed the most fascinating thing about the theatre to me...
A place that harbours minds of intellects dancing and creating a beautiful art with their hands whilst reviving health.
Could you imagine the joy that you were having a right iliac pain (which has a differential of appendicitis) and you're wheeled in to the theatre in pains but few minutes after, you are in stitches after appendectomy with no internal pains... You're healed!!!
What greater joy could be bigger than making someone get back to their health... I doubt there's any indeed.
It's really a privilege to witness these firsthand honestly.... Even though I haven't made up my mind of specializing in a medicine or surgery unit, I will always visit the theatre for the joy that comes with it.

It sure is a fascinated place to be when you are healthy and sound but not so when one is sick.
I dread the operating theater especially when I had a procedure many years ago. That experience left a big scar, not just on my body but also my mind.
You sure?
I think it's a fascinating place to be for a sick person also bearing in mind that he or she will walk out healthy in most cases asides from table death😢
It's not an easy ordeal though, when I had callosum surgery, it was same for me but at the end, I was happy I got healed at the end
You've got a point there.
How's studies going?
Studies been fine dear
That's good to hear. Have a nice time this week.
How's work?
Work is what it is bro, I'm carrying it out to the best of my ability.
Thanks
All the best

At the same time, you were enjoying a Surgery being medical student while the Patient was suffering from Incisions 😂. Imagine if there will be no Anesthesia. Last time, I witnessed the same Scene in Operation Theater when my cousin's surgery was in process. I don't like to visit Hospital, God save us.
😂😂, I saw what you did there but the patients normally aren't awake, hehehe.
They're always under general anaesthetia.
Hopefully we all don't get sick so we don't visit the hospital also
Yes, I have same prayers for you bro.
Thanks a lot
This is amazing @sperosamuel15. I have also had the impression that the theater is certainly very bloody place. I as a matter of fact assumed that doctors must be really strong minded to get to encounter such amount of blood. But how are you guys able to control blood flow during operation?
Thanks for your compliment friend.....
During surgeries, there are many techniques to control blood flow to the barest minimum ranging from electrocauterization down to tourniquet application.
Moreover the patient's platelet level must be Optimal
The truth is that I almost did not understand anything. Thank you anyway for the information
Ouch... I understand
I didn't have a better way to explain it without medical terms
Welcome back to hive bro, we have missed you😊
I think it must have been a personal preference, some of the surgeries I have experienced, the surgeon played music throughout.
You know how some people prefer to read in serene environments while others prefer busy places and some can read just anywhere, I think that's how this is too.
Yes, I've also experienced such operation personally too, indeed, it's a personal preference something but even amidst those musics, it's still calm
Wow... Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot....
Undoubtedly, the theatre is one of the most amazing places in the world. On thing that always gets me is the number of medical practitioners always inside the room, trying to save a life. The come in numbers to ensure no stone is left unturned.

Hehehe, indeed, there are many persons needed because a life is worth more than anything and everyone has a role to play inside there including us that are spectators, heheh
Thanks for reading
That's right...being a spectator can be fun😅
Hehehe, not always 😂 but it is atimes
I'm intrigued about it being a noiseless zone because there was a trending video I saw recently of medical students or was it surgeons vining to Shallipopi's songs during operation. I was astounded. Lol
Lol.... Even if the doctor wants to play music, it definitely isn't going to be shallipopi or those kind.... It'll definitely be a calm and cool song
