Limpiando el teclado mecánico ✨️

¡Saludos, queridos amantes de la tecnología! Más allá de solo querer hacerles un post limpiando mi teclado mecánico, quiero hablarles de los beneficios que ha tenido tener uno y por qué lo seguiría recomendando.

Greetings, fellow tech enthusiasts! Beyond just wanting to write a post about cleaning my mechanical keyboard, I want to discuss the benefits of owning one and why I would continue to recommend it.

Yo temía tiempo viendo que mi teclado no estaba como que muy decente que digamos, solo lo limpiaba por encima, pero sabemos que cuando tenemos un teclado, eso no es muy eficiente que digamos. Por lo que hoy, mientras mudaba mi set, decidí que era hora de limpiar mi teclado.

Lo primero que vamos a hacer es desconectar nuestro teclado. Una vez listo, empezamos a sacar las teclas. Esta es la ventaja principal de estos gadgets, que podemos removerlos sin mucho esfuerzo, incluso intercambiarlos por algunos nuevos. Aunque son muy fáciles de quitar, solo con los dedos, llega un momento en que empiezan a lastimar, por lo que podemos usar algo para hacer palanca como una regla, unas tijeras, o un cuchillo de mesa, que fue lo que utilicé yo.

I had been worried for some time that my keyboard wasn't in very good condition, as I only cleaned it superficially, but we all know that when we have a keyboard, that's not very efficient. So today, while I was moving my set, I decided it was time to clean my keyboard.

The first thing we're going to do is disconnect our keyboard. Once that's done, we start removing the keys. This is the main advantage of these gadgets: we can remove them without much effort and even swap them out for new ones. Although they are very easy to remove with just your fingers, there comes a point when they start to hurt, so we can use something to pry them out, such as a ruler, scissors, or a table knife, which is what I used.

Una vez que saqué todas las teclas, me di cuenta de lo asqueroso que estaba (como pueden ver en la fotografía). Para limpiarlo, solo necesité un paño remojado con un poco de desinfectante, aunque hay unos sprays más eficientes para limpiar, yo no cuento en estos momentos como para comprar uno de estos, así que nos fuimos por lo más sencillo. Fue un poco complicado limpiar entre la ranura, así que me ayudé de la punta de un bolígrafo cubierto con el paño para poder limpiar bien. Quiero, además, compartir un truco que me enseñó un técnico; se trata de voltear el teclado y darle unos golpecitos para que salgan restos de cualquier porquería que esté incrustado (generalmente son restos de comida).

Once I removed all the keys, I realized how dirty it was (as you can see in the photo). To clean it, I only needed a cloth soaked in a little disinfectant. Although there are more effective cleaning sprays available, I couldn't afford to buy one at the moment, so we went for the simplest option. It was a little tricky to clean between the slots, so I used the tip of a pen covered with the cloth to get it clean. I also want to share a trick that a technician taught me: turn the keyboard upside down and tap it to remove any dirt that is stuck to it (usually food debris).

Una vez limpia la base del teclado, es hora de volver a colocar las teclas. Recomiendo tomar una foto del teclado antes de quitarlas, o después no sabrán donde va cada tecla. Antes de regresar las teclas a su lugar, empecé a limpiarlas una a una, porque tenían mucho polvo acumulado. Esta fue la parte más tediosa, así que mientras lo hacía, puse una serie para poder hacerlo con más ánimo.

Once the keyboard base is clean, it's time to put the keys back on. I recommend taking a photo of the keyboard before removing them, or you won't know where each key goes. Before putting the keys back in place, I started cleaning them one by one, because they had a lot of dust on them. This was the most tedious part, so while I was doing it, I put on a TV series to keep me motivated.

Y así de limpio y reluciente quedó mi teclado. Creo que tengo 3 años con él, es marca REDRAGON, es retroiluminado y me ha salido espectacular. Tiene algunas teclas a las que ya no les funcionan las luces, pero eso no es como que muy importante para mí. Según he preguntado, es lo único que no tiene arreglo, pero como les dije, puedo vivir con ello.

And that's how clean and shiny my keyboard ended up. I think I've had it for three years. It's a REDRAGON brand, it's backlit, and it turned out great. Some of the keys don't have working lights anymore, but that's not really important to me. From what I've heard, that's the only thing that can't be fixed, but as I said, I can live with it.
