Kindle Paperwhite| Unboxing & Review

¡Hola a todos mis queridos amigos de Geek Zone! Hoy estoy emocionada porque pensé que tardaría mucho en hacer un nuevo Unboxing de un aparato tecnológico de algo importante, no quiero decir con esto que no iba a traer más nada, sino que por mi parte, no iba a comprar más nada durante un tiempo mientras reúno para comprar algo que necesito. Pero una sorpresa me llegó vía correo directamente desde España y estoy feliz por compartirlo con ustedes.

Today I'm excited because I thought it would take me a long time to do a new Unboxing of a technological gadget of something important, I don't mean with this that I wasn't going to bring more anything, but for my part, I wasn't going to buy anything else for a while while I gather to buy something I need. But a surprise came to me via mail directly from Spain and I am happy to share it with you.

Se trata de un Kindle Paperwhite, estoy segura de que muchos no sabrán que es esto. Pero si algo yo he deseado desde hace muchos, muchos años es un Kindle. Desde que supe que habían sacado un dispositivo que era como un iPod, pero que servía para leer, deseé con toda mi alma uno. La vida no me lo permitió además que en este país no es un dispositivo muy popular, además que siempre han Sido algo elevados de precio y no podía permitirmelo por aquella época. Así como les digo, un Kindle no es más que un dispositivo para leer libros electrónicos; fácil y sencillo. En años pasados, tuve un reader, que era como la copia de un Kindle, pero más barato, también le descargaba libros, pero la tecnología era diferente, era más parecido a una tablet que a un reader.

Toda la tecnología que revolucionó con la aparición del Kindle en 2007 es que podías leer sin una pantalla retroiluminada que le hiciera daño a los ojos, la pantalla de los primeros Kindles era más parecida a la de una calculadora, pero en una versión más grande esto para que tengan una idea de lo que involucraba está tecnología, es decir, una pantalla de tinta electrónica que además se conectaba vía 3G o simplemente, pasabas los libros a través de una memoria SD. Pero han pasado 16 años desde que salió el primero, y nunca había dejado de desearlo, quería uno para poder leer porque las librerías físicas se han ido extinguiendo y ya lo que nos queda en este país son solo libros muy populares y muy costosos. Lo que hice para poder leer fue comprarme una tablet porque era muy económica en comparación a un Kindle, así que esa era mi opción, pero aunque leía, lo hacía lento y me cansaba muy rápido porque no es nada cómodo leer en una tablet por muchas razones.

Ever since I heard that they had released a device that was like an iPod, but that served to read, I wished with all my soul for one. Life didn't allow me to do so, besides the fact that in this country it is not a very popular device, plus they have always been somewhat expensive, and I could not afford it at that time. So as I say, a Kindle is nothing more than a device to read electronic books; easy and simple. In past years, I had a reader, which was like a copy of a Kindle, but cheaper, it also downloaded books, but the technology was different, it was more like a tablet than a reader.

All the technology that revolutionized with the appearance of the Kindle in 2007 is that you could read without a backlit screen that hurt your eyes, the screen of the first Kindles was more like that of a calculator, but in a larger version this to give you an idea of what this technology involved, ie, an electronic ink screen that also connected via 3G or simply, you passed the books through an SD memory. But it has been 16 years since the first one came out, and I had never stopped wanting one, I wanted one to be able to read because the physical bookstores have become extinct and what we have left in this country are only very popular and very expensive books. What I did to be able to read was to buy a tablet because it was very economical compared to a Kindle, so that was my option, but although I read, it was slow, and I got tired very quickly because it is not comfortable to read on a tablet for many reasons.

¡Llegó el Kindle Paperwhite!

Entre algunas cosas y otras, mi mamá estaba preparando una cajita para enviar por avión, y me dijo la gran noticia sorpresa de que enviaría también su Kindle Paperwhite de 11° generación porque había comprado una nueva. Así que sin pedirlo, ni esperarlo, y tal cual como mi reader anterior, mi mamá me regaló mi nuevo Kindle, que aunque está usado, me ha llegado en perfecto estado.

No se crean que solo me envió el Kindle y ya, me lo regaló con todas sus cosas, incluyendo la caja original, el cable, instrucciones y un forro para resguardar el Kindle.

[English] Between some things and others, my mom was preparing a little box to send by plane, and she told me the great surprise news that she would also send her 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite because she had bought a new one. So without asking for it, or expecting it, and just like my previous reader, my mom gave me my new Kindle, which although used, has arrived in perfect condition.

Don't think she just sent me the Kindle and that's it, she gave it to me with all its stuff, including the original box, the cable, instructions, and a cover to protect the Kindle.

Una de las cosas que separan las versiones Paperwhite de las anteriores es que la pantalla tiene iluminación y es lo que la hace atractivo, la tecnología funciona con un solo bombillo Led que ilumina toda la pantalla. Otra cosa que es maravillosa de este dispositivo es su tamaño, lo puedo sostener con una sola mano sin que me canse, además que le podemos controlar el brillo de la pantalla y la calidez de esta para que no nos afecte en nuestros ojos.

! [English] I know many don't pay attention to these facts, but there are other intense geeks who do, so I'm sharing them with you here.

One of the things that separates the Paperwhite versions from the previous ones is that the screen has illumination and that is what makes it attractive, the technology works with a single LED bulb that illuminates the entire screen. Another thing that is wonderful about this device is its size, I can hold it with one hand without getting tired, plus we can control the brightness of the screen and the warmth of this so it does not affect our eyes.

En cuanto al Software, ella viene por defecto con un sistema operativo Amazon Kindle que posee una biblioteca, acceso directo a la librería de Amazon en donde puedes comprar los libros y puedes vincular tu cuenta con la de Goodreads. Yo aproveché de utilizar la herramienta Bionic Reading para probar que tal me va con esta y si mejoro mi concentración.

As for the Software, she comes by default with an Amazon Kindle operating system that has a library, direct access to the Amazon bookstore where you can buy the books and you can link your account with the Goodreads account. I took the opportunity to use the [Bionic Reading] tool (https://peakd.com/hive-106817/@jauregui98/bionic-reading-or-improve-your-reading-skills-and-focus-like-never-before) to test how I am doing with it and if it improves my concentration.

Apenas tengo unos 3 días con mi Kindle, pero puedo decirles con total orgullo que me he enviciado y que la he probado. Estoy leyendo un libro que había empezado en la tablet y pude hacer una comparación más precisa, por lo que la mejora es increíble. Sobre todo a la hora de hacer cosas como pasar la página con un pequeño toquecito con el mismo dedo de la mano con la que sostengo el dispositivo, ya es una gran ventaja, al no pesar mucho, puedo leer más cómoda y durante mucho más tiempo sin que esto me cause alguna incomodidad. Ahora lo que me tocará poner a prueba es comparar, leer sin el Bionic Reading, por ahora me ha ido bien, pero me gustaría ver que tal pasa con el modo normal y como me desenvuelvo.

! [English] I'm only about 3 days old with my Kindle, but I can tell you with total pride that I've been envious and have tried it. I'm reading a book I had started on the tablet and was able to do a more accurate comparison, so the improvement is incredible. Especially when it comes to doing things like turning the page with a little touch with the same finger of the hand with which I hold the device, it is already a great advantage, not weighing much, I can read more comfortable and for much longer without this causing me any discomfort. Now what I will have to test is to compare, reading without the Bionic Reading, so far it has gone well, but I'd like to see how it goes with the normal mode and how I get along.
