Is this how we protect the environment?
Yesterday was a lazy day where I didn't feel like doing anything, so I decided to finally do what I've been putting off for a long time - migrate to Windows 11 from Windows 10. Nothing can go wrong, I told myself after this migration is required anyway and from one point on, it will be impossible to use Windows 10 anyway. Yes, but no.
After several hours of fruitless installation attempts, my computer said: Undoing changes to your computer. And returned to the original state. Now I'm wondering, will I have to buy a new computer? Is this the purpose of this update? Isn't it clear that many old computers will not be up to this challenge and will have to go to the trash? Is this how we protect the environment?
A second attempt is coming up today. We'll see.

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
I wish you it is not a pain in the arse, as it usually is...

It is now micro$h^t or something. Or it always was actually. I don't like situations where you are forced to do things without having a choice to do something more meaningful, but this is life at its true face, and if I haven't accepted that yet, I have quite a few unpleasant days ahead of me.😕
Did it say why it was undoing changes? Did you check if your computer meets the specifications for Windows 11? Diskspace, memory & CPU?
It said nothing. Regarding the requirements, I don't think I cover them, but the prompt to install 11 has been sitting on my computer for a long time now, and actually the second attempt was successful. Now there is a second attempt to update the already installed 11 because the first one failed again too lol.
A second attempt doesn't bother me as much as an absolute inability to do so. So it remains to be seen how things will develop in the future.
