Greetings to the InLeo Community 🦁,

In today's blog I'll be doing a bit of a comparison between two great websites or platforms, Hive and Google Adsense in the aspect of blog or content monetization.

Monetizing blogs or articles is how bloggers and writers support themselves and their work to keep being in business and to improve and the quality of content and audience reach.

So the simple question remains, which of these two platforms should a blogger choose as a way to monetize their posts.

A BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Hive is a decentralized social media platform built on a Blockchain technology called the Hive Blockchain whereas Google Adsense is an advertisement company or website built specifically to monetize people's websites by showing ads on the content creator's website.

In Hive, content creators earn rewards through their very own cryptocurrency token called the Hive token.

There are other crypto tokens to earn on Hive like for example the Leo tokens. I believe it's oke of the best of tokens to earn and to stake which is why I always power up or stake my Leo tokens.

Whether a blogger or content creator would choose to work with the Hive platform or Google Adsense depends on their needs and preferences.

In my next subtopic, I'll outline a few differences between Hive and Google Adsense in the aspect of content or blog monetization.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIVE AND GOOGLE ADSENSE

HIVEGOOGLE ADSENSE
Hive is a Blockchain based social media platform where bloggers can directly write blogsAdsense is not a social media platform so authors will need a website of their own
Hive already has an audience for bloggers to share their content withAdsense has no audience for bloggers to share their content
Hive shows no ads in blogger's contentAdsense shows ads in blogger's content
Bloggers on Hive earn in cryptocurrencyAdsense pays in traditional currency like USD or Euro
Hive pays bloggers based on upvotes or likesAdsense pays only based on number of impressions and clicks on their ads
Hive earnings can be withdrawn at any timeAdsense withdrawal is monthly
Hive takes about 7 days waiting time for withdrawal or reward claimAdsense withdrawal is monthly
Hive is decentralized and earnings is based on upvotes and Quality of workAdsense is not decentralized and earnings is based on ads views or impressions and clicks
Hive pays curation rewardsAdsense does not pay users for reading and liking your content

Audience

Hive is a decentralized Blockchain based social media platform with hundreds of thousands of registered users. This means that an author will not have to pay to promote his blogging websites in order to gain people who will read his or her content.

There are a lot of communities on Hive that might already be interested in what the author is sharing and so the author on his or her first day of writing can start getting feedback and upvotes from people when he or she writes on through those communities.

For instance, I'm happy to share my crypto and finance blogs on InLeo because I trust that it will be seen and read by people that are already interested in that field or topic.

Adsense on the other hand, is a website that will pay the blogger for allowing Adsense ads on the bloggers own website blogs.

The pay from Adsense depends on how many people watched and clicked ads in the blogger's website. This means that as a blogger if you choose to monetize using Adsense, your readers will see advertisements on your blog page and you will get paid based on how many people that saw the advertisements and how many valid clicks the ads got.

In my honest opinion, I would prefer to use Hive as a blogger and most importantly if you are a beginner because you're get audience you didn't have to pay for.

Decentralization

Hive is a decentralized platform which means no single authority controls who gets more views and who doesn't. It is entirely up to the blogger to write quality content that will be upvoted by users and become popular or trend depending on the upvotes.

With Adsense, the blogger needs to pay for his or her own website or blog to be promoted. There are authorities at Google that are constantly checking contents of bloggers and can get an author banned for any little mistake.

In my personal experience with Google advertisements, I built a website and at the time I was new to Google Adsense so I didn't know all of its rules. I think I placed their ads at the wrong place and they banned me just for doing that.

I tried to talk to support but their response was not helpful at all. I gave up on Google advertisements because they made it almost impossible for me to successfully monetize my content.

Some people have succeeded with Google Adsense though, but it's very difficult. On Hive, I just start posting my blogs and I get upvotes, it is that easy. So I prefer Hive over Google Adsense simply for that.

Payments

Hive pays with its own cryptocurrency called Hive. And as you may already be aware, cryptocurrency transactions are usually faster than traditional money transactions.

This makes earning and withdrawing from Hive much faster than on Google Adsense. Hive has a payout waiting time of 1 week. After that week, the content creator can claim his or her rewards.

With Google Adsense, you need to reach an earning threshold of 100 dollars before they can start working on sending you a cheque, wire transfers or bank transfer which can take a long time to process payments.

Adsense pays on a monthly basis if in that month you have reached the minimum withdrawal threshold of 100 dollars.

Curation

One of the most interesting things about Hive is the fact that not only the blogger or content creator will earn from the content, but also those who upvoted the content.

This motivates people to upvote your quality content. There is no curation reward system on Adsense and so there is no incentive rewards to motivate content readers. I think this is one of the best features that makes me prefer Hive over Adsense.

I know that when I'm writing content, I'll be sharing the revenue with those that took their precious time to read my content and give me feedback.

To draw the curtains on today's blog, Although Google Adsense is a very powerful company and has provided revenue for a lot of bloggers and content creators out there, I would prefer Hive if I'm a new blogger or an experienced blogger because there are so many advantages to choosing Hive.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read today's blog post. I hope you enjoyed the blog and found it both insightful and entertaining. As always, I'll be happy to respond to any question or comment you may have regarding the blog topic.
