One thing we know is that Transparency and Integrity is very necessary in the world of medical research and clinical trials.

When Integrity is not maintained and transparency is not established in clinical trials it could lead to some very serious consequences.

I made this blog to create awareness for the necessity of Blockchain technology in ensuring Integrity and Transparency in clinical trials and medical research.

When it comes to clinical trials, making sure that the data collected is legitimate and every expert involved in the trial can get their hands on it is really crucial to the success of all medical trials or experiments.

The data that is gathered by doctors during medical trials whether the trial succeeded or failed is necessary for making progress with their research.

The traditional ways of performing clinical trials could have a few issues with transparency and integrity. You can never tell whether all experts involved in the trials are being honest with the data.

This is what makes a system of ensuring transparency and integrity necessary with clinical trials. Now this is where Blockchain Technology comes into play.

These clinical trials really hold tons of very sensitive information, and one of the biggest concerns or worries is that the information from clinical trials might get messed with or not everyone can see what's going on.

Since there's not much transparency with the traditional methods, some individuals invloved in the trials could take advantage of the data or information to do things that might either be unethical or illegal.

Some clinical trials are not authorized by government but it's had to trace or track whether some individuals are involved in these trials.

Blockchain technology has a great solution to this particular limitation of clinical trials.

One thing Blockchain technology is quite good at is security and transparency.

Once data goes into a Blockchain, it's almost like locking it up in an unbreakable box. It can't be changed or altered in anyway.

Even if some people manage to alter the data, thanks to the public ledger system of Blockchain which records every single input or out activity, we can detect the change and also be able to know or decipher between the original and the altered data.

This will certainly go a long way to ensure transparency and integrity in all clinical trials.

I'm pretty sure by now you're starting to get the picture of how Blockchain technology can ensure the right things being done during clinical trials.

This not only keeps the information safe but also controls who can peek at it, stopping anyone from trying to take a sneaky look without permission. It blocks people from having unauthorized access to the data from clinical trials.

What makes Blockchain more valuable is how it can make sharing information between the different experts invloved in a clinical trial very easy. The experts or individuals involved in the clinical trial could include scientists, doctors, regulators, and even the patients.

This quick sharing of information can speed up the whole trial process and help everyone make decisions faster and also more accurately while still maintaining transparency and integrity.

Now you probably guessed if you've been following most of my medical blogs that I'll certainly not end the blog without touching on the limitations or challenges of the concept.

Using Blockchain technology for clinical trials has its advantages as I discussed but also comes with some few hurdles as well.

Getting Blockchain technology to work with existing systems, following the rules, making everything the same for everyone, and the cost involved are some of the challenges we still face.

These are challenges that really need figuring out for the use of Blockchain technology in clinical trials to take off successfully.

Although we have these challenges or hurdles to overcome, our technology keeps evolving and the rules keep changing. This gives us hope that sooner in the future, we would be able to smoothly and successfully use Blockchain technology for clinical trials.

Nowadays Blockchain is being applied to different fields of work. We see Blockchain in the finance world in the form of crytocurrency. We also see Blockchain even in social media and this very platform, Hive is a testament of that.

Blockchain is certainly entering every field of science and technology. Clinical trials will not be exempted from this new movement.

I believe that great teamwork between the experts that are well-versed in the area of Blockchain technology and the healthcare professionals is the main secret sauce to cook up blockchain solutions that fit everyone's needs.

As I draw the curtains on today's blog, one thing I can say for sure is that as the healthcare world keeps hunting for new ideas, blockchain would shine as a bright way to make clinical research faster and better for everyone involved.
