[ENG/PT-BR] Artificial Intelligence: opinions about some related points.

The more the years go by, the more technological innovations are discovered to compose the wide range of wonders that we have at our disposal. If we stop to think about what has changed in the last 100 years, for example, we can be sure that evolution is inevitable and the future holds great surprises for us.

Although apparently the subject “artificial intelligence” has gone out of focus, it is still visible that many are concerned with its evolution and implementation in our lives and especially in the job market, with its power of intelligence being seen as a reaper of jobs.

For those who have a more critical eye, AIs can go far beyond just stealing jobs, they may want to “steal” lives too if you know what I mean. And for this humble author, I don't think it's totally crazy to think that. We must remember that artificial intelligences are created to adapt and learn as they gain more information.

One of the characteristics of Artificial Intelligence is the ability to learn on its own, without the direct intervention of a human programmer. This is part of the concept of machine learning, which enables the tool to "reason", learn and make decisions independently.

So, somehow, if there are no safety locks and protection against learning that perhaps is not geared towards understanding and evaluating what is good or bad in people, an AI could very well come to a foregone conclusion of that human beings are the true evil of this planet no?

Anyway, fantasies aside, this question mark about what an artificial intelligence can accomplish facing the negative lake, I would like to describe some opinions on this subject, in my way of seeing this situation.

Inevitable

I believe that, as stated in the first paragraph of this text, it is inevitable that technological innovations reach us in some way and in the job market in general. We are always looking for the convenience that machines, computers and technological items bring us, because that is what human beings want: convenience, simplicity and little effort.

All of this is also something dangerous, because in my view, the generation that my children are part of, which I affectionately call the “Tik Tok generation”, may be the most dangerous generation of humanity, because there are no ideas and concepts for them as meritocracy, hard work equals rewarding results, difficulties, sacrifices, challenges to overcome, etc.

What does that have to do with it? New technologies that intend to generate less effort and a population that is growing with just that in mind. Could we be creating a future full of slackers? Probably yes.

Then the new technologies will arrive, to create more facilities and whoever goes against this will certainly be “cancelled” and “judged” by other people who are always looking for the greatest of desires: more results together with less effort.

Regulation

I don't know if this is the best word to indicate here, but I believe that yes, there must be rules not only for AI, but for several other innovations that are arriving, mainly those that can really cause us some harm as has always been discussed in the last few times.

Evolving is great, but being safe is much better, I think so. So, yes, it would be mandatory that the creations resulting from an AI have guidelines to follow that somehow prevent them from learning that a nuclear holocaust can solve the problem of hunger in the world. ☠️

It's pretty crazy isn't it? Therefore, a set of rules, guidelines, modes, ethics, that is, whatever the name is, would be super welcome if possible so that we can enjoy the best of AI without fear of regretting it in the future.

Equilibrium

Life is based on balance. This is what I teach to everyone who is close to me and seeks to understand things better. Just as I educate my children who still don't quite understand the word limit and think that everything should be 100% their way, I always say: that doesn't exist!

The implementation of new technologies must be well thought out, considering the positive and negative points and it must be widely publicized that the perfect world does not exist, it will not be possible to put AI in jobs without some people losing that same job. We are all liable to be replaced by machines.

This statement is frightening, but it is reality. So, the best that can be done is to try to balance the progress that comes with the simple reminder that humans work because they need money and with it, buy food, pay bills and have a dignified life, among many other things.

Conclusion

No one can stop progress, I think is a good statement. But you have to be calm with things and be very careful. One of the problems of human beings is their willingness to create and place things without thinking about the bad parts of it, which makes everything a great danger.

I really believe that we have a great future ahead of us, but we need to take the shortest steps and analyze the most accurate possible. After all, after so much time and with so many brilliant minds, we cannot put the cart before the horse.

Quanto mais os anos passam, mais novidades tecnológicas são descobertas para compor a grande gama de maravilhas que temos a nossa disposição. Se pararmos para pensar o que mudou nos últimos 100 anos, por exemplo, podemos ter certeza de que a evolução é algo inevitável e o futuro reserva grandes surpresas para nós.

Apesar de aparentemente o assunto “inteligência artificial” ter saído um pouco do foco, ainda é visível que muitos estão preocupados com a sua evolução e implementação nas nossas vidas e principalmente no mercado de trabalho, com seu poder de inteligência sendo visto como um ceifador de empregos.

Para aqueles que possuem um olhar mais critico, as IAs podem ir muito além de apenas roubar empregos, ela pode querer “roubar” vidas também se é que me entendem. E para este humilde autor, não acho que seja totalmente loucura pensar isso. Devemos lembrar que as inteligências artificiais são criadas para se adaptar e aprender a medida em que ganham mais informações.

Uma das características da Inteligência Artificial é a capacidade de aprender sozinha, sem intervenção direta de um programador humano. Isso faz parte do conceito de aprendizado de máquina, que possibilita à ferramenta "raciocinar", aprender e tomar decisões de forma independente.

Então, de alguma forma, caso não exista travas de segurança e proteção contra um aprendizado que talvez não seja voltado para o caminho da compreensão e avaliação sobre o que é bom ou ruim nas pessoas, uma IA poderia muito bem chegar em uma conclusão precipitada de que os seres humanos são o verdadeiro mal deste planeta não?

Enfim, fantasias a parte, esse ponto de interrogação sobre o que é passível de uma inteligência artificial realizar voltada para o lago negativo, gostaria de descrever algumas opiniões sobre este assunto, na minha forma de ver esta situação.

Inevitável

Acredito que, como dito no primeiro parágrafo deste texto, é inevitável que as novidades tecnológicas cheguem de alguma forma para nós e no mercado de trabalho em geral. Buscamos sempre a comodidade que as máquinas, computadores e artigos tecnológicos nos trazem, por ser isso que o ser humano quer: comodidade, simplicidade e pouco esforço.

Tudo isso é também algo perigoso, pois na minha forma de ver, a geração que meus filhos fazem parte, que eu cariosamente chamo de “geração Tik Tok”, pode ser a geração mais perigosa da humanidade, pois não existem para eles ideias e conceitos como meritocracia, trabalho duro igual resultados compensadores, dificuldades, sacrifícios, desafios a vencer, etc.

O que isso têm em relação? Novas tecnologias que pretendem gerar menos esforço e uma população que vai crescendo com justamente isso em mente. Podemos estar criando um futuro cheio de preguiçosos? Provavelmente sim.

Então as novas tecnologias irão chegar, para criar mais facilidades e quem ir contra isso, com certeza será “cancelado” e “julgado” por outras pessoas que buscam sempre o maior dos desejos: mais resultados juntamente com menos esforço.

Regulamentação

Não sei se essa é a melhor palavra para indicar aqui, mas acredito que sim, devem existir regras não somente para IA, mas para várias outras novidades que forem chegando, principalmente as que podem realmente nos causar algum mal como vem sempre sendo discutido nestes últimos tempos.

Evoluir é ótimo, mas com segurança é bem melhor, penso assim. Então, seria, sim, obrigatório que as criações resultantes de uma IA tenham diretrizes para seguir que de alguma forma impeçam as mesmas de aprender que um holocausto nuclear pode resolver o problema da fome no mundo. ☠️

É bem doido não é? Por isso, um conjunto de regras, diretrizes, modos, ética, ou seja, lá qual for o nome, seria super bem-vindo se possível para podermos aproveitar o melhor da IA sem medo de nos arrepender no futuro.

A vida é baseada em equilíbrio. Isso é o que ensino para todos que estão perto de mim e buscam entender melhor as coisas. Assim como educo meus filhos que ainda não entendem bem a palavra limite e acham que tudo deve ser 100% do jeito deles, sempre falo: isso não existe!

A implementação de novas tecnologias deve ser bem pensada, considerando os pontos positivos e negativos e deve ser amplamente divulgado que o mundo perfeito não existe, não dará para colocar IA nos empregos sem que algumas pessoas percam este mesmo emprego. Todos estamos passíveis de sermos substituídos pelas máquinas.

Essa afirmação é assustadora, mas é a realidade. Então, o melhor que pode ser feito é tentar equilibrar o progresso que chega, com a simples lembrança de que os humanos trabalham porque precisam de dinheiro e com ele, comprar comida, pagar contas e ter uma vida digna, dentre outras muitas coisas.

Conclusão

Ninguém pode parar o progresso, acredito ser uma boa afirmação. Só que é preciso ter calma com as coisas e muito cuidado. Um dos problemas do ser humano é a sua vontade em criar e colocar as coisas sem pensar nas partes ruins disso, o que torna tudo um grande perigo.

Acredito muito que temos um grande futuro pela frente, mas é preciso ir com passos curtos e analises mais precisas possíveis. Afinal, depois de tanto tempo e com tantas mentes brilhantes, não podemos colocar a carroça na frente dos bois.
