Yeah exactly but it is not as easy as it sounds.
Creating value when some of the employees are already nearing retirement age is not easy.
It is up to the company to see the value they bring in terms of work experiences.
oh if near retirement age usually cut off alr liao too expensive. most i see do grab driver after they get retired or laid off cuz near the retire age
Well depends on the company you work for ba.
As long as there is no grounds for the company to fire you, they should be "protected" near retirement age. Else no one will ever be getting the pension funding.
oh ya. singapore labor law strict sia?
Yeah there has to be valid ground for laying off employee especially at that sensitive age.
o.o because they are expensive usually tahts enough ground shaha. that one senior can probably hire like 5 fresh grad wei
But that is within their rights with that years of work experiences which the fresh grad could not provide. And its according to their contract so technically they did nothing wrong to be sack so yea it is against the law as it constitute as a groundless firing.
Yes but that's how layoff works mah. Even competent or not it's a business. @_@ last time my mom work at Intel got replace by people from puerto rico cuz cheaper labor. my mom didn't do anything wrong also. That's how it is leh
Oh well just saying that is not the case in Singapore, it is a little more sensitive at that age
wha you slept so late and tell me sleep early lol for more health. woah signapore very strict sia. SO this act applies to their salary? If company don't want to pay that amount to keep them?
This is to protect the people from getting laid off just so to save cost.
Anyway the government helped by giving subsidies to the company
hmm seems very strict but sure got some loopholes right. But singapore strong the EO
