The Future Of Technology🖥️📶📱
"The Internet is the first thing that humanity has built that humanity doesn't understand, the largest experiment in anarchy that we have ever had." - Eric Schmidt
This quote by the former Ceo of Google is one which defines the Internet in it's entirety.
It highlights the unprecedented nature of the Internet and its impact on society as it's our first creation that has far progressed over something we understand nor can control and it's also ungovernable, a free entity in its entirety.
It's quite dangerous when one looks at the future of technology, one can't avoid looking at the Internet.
One could say the Internet is just the first step in the future of technology.
It's clearly the most popular, and the most uncomfortable, yet there are new technologies which are coming up with potential for more popularity and uncontrollability.
In my post Our Music.. Traditional and Modern Nigerian Songs I talked about how the concept of traditional and modern is particular to one's timeline. It's a bit of a no-brainer but the same is applicable when talking about 'The Future' of such a thing as technology.
Technology has always been a part of us humans, we, the only Animals gifted with such a high level of intelligence, began our journey with technology since the hunting tools of cavemen.
No matter how crude or problematic they were, as they made the simple job of tearing, gouging and smashing easier and they were made by man, they were examples of technology.
In the early 1950's the prospect of the internet was just a dream, back then when what was in rage were huge computers and transistors , the Internet was considered as the future of technology.
Now, in the 20th century, with the Internet normalized, inventors are building on it and the future of technology has moved even further.
Just recently, one of technology's future prospects became truly normalized.
- Artificial Intelligence
The artificial intelligence or AI has been used in movies as a far off scientific victory since the late 1990's and now it's even gotten free of charge.
Of course it has come with it's advantages that heavily influenced society, it came with its issues and drawbacks, mostly in the human workforce and employment sector.
AI hasn't stopped upgrading though, what we've experienced so far in the likes of Chat GPT, Meta, Midjourney, Leonardo, etc is but the begining.
The idea of AI taking over our daily duties and us becoming dependent on them isn't unfounded. After all, that's what technology is for, to make life easier.
We humans love easy✨
But AI is just a glimpse of what the future of technology entails.
If we're looking at a roadmap, I'd say the Quantum Computer is next in line.
Computers which emulates the behavior of particles and waves in their computing behavior. They are planned to work exponentially faster than the computers we have today and their use cases would be numerous..
Of course with such a promising sight, the shadows and disadvantages would be there too.
There are other projects which take up our technological future examples being the Internet Of Things (IoT), Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, and even our Cryptocurrency.
Some project have already started and some already brought to life but none have even reached half of their full potential.
With technologist, inventors and the consumers pushing them to and over their limits everyday, they would reach there eventually.
Indeed it's an activity filled future for technology, yet I'm still left uncomfortable about what drawbacks we as a society would get from it.
How would we change? How would we adapt?
It's a bright road but there would be dark shadows.
I'll end this with the quote from David Wong
"New technology is not good or evil in and off itself. It's all about how people choose to use it."

It gets really scary when we look back and see how evolution is taking place with technology.
Within some few years see how much AI is doing. I’m not so happy about it but someway too I just want to see what’s in for us in some years to come.
Flying cars?
Perhaps teleporting and telepathy...
I don’t believe they can ever pull teleportation off
David Wong's quote is what even scares me more because in as much as we think technology is unpredictable, humans are unpredictable too. If humans choose to use these technologies for a good reason then lucky we but if reverse is the case then...I fear what will become of us.
Technology is advancing at amazing speed. The journey of computer from first generation to the present 4th/5th generation is breathtaking. I am equally optimistic in a better future for the internet.
