First I am hearing about this news and it is very exciting.

K2-18b... The confirmed presence of bio signatures is a rather new one. This means the lifeforms are almost 80% confirmed.

That's crazy🔥😂✨

I do wonder if they'd have cross into the bipedal or quadrupeds region yet though. Especially if their planet is considerably harder to live in than ours.
So many variables.

That's a little bit too optimistic:

  • There is no proof yet that DMS and DMDS really exist on K2-18b.
  • IF they exist they still could be of an abiotic origin on this planet.

But nevertheless: for me these are extremely exciting discoveries anyway!

Didn't they run the tests?

Sure they did two different scans of the atmosphere of the planet, but just read the part about the "three-sigma significance level" carefully ...
