Solar energy is now gaining more hands than it has ever gained and this has made the price of each solar panel to increase significantly.
I can't say wether or not it's a better substitute for electricity cause' both of them have their own merits and dismerits.

You are right. Solar energy is gaining massive ground now and I believe it will continue to in years to come
