This is the part II of yesterday's post where I'm covering everything that Apple announced at its iPhone event. If you haven't checked out the first part, you can do so here.

In this post, I am going to be talking about the new Apple Watch series 5, the new iPad and the launch of Apple Arcade and Apple TV+.

Apple Watch Series 5

Right off the bat, fans got a much requested feature, an always on display, which was made possible thanks to the LTPO display. Also, the watch keeps the all day battery life even if it the display is kept on all the time. That was probably made possible by the new S5 processor as well.

Another new very handy feature that the watch gets is the ability to tell direction aka compass. It also allows users to see their latitude, longitude, elevation as well as incline. Apple also enhanced the emergency services calling feature. Now, every cellular model can call emergency services from anywhere in the world. So, if you're from the US, you can call 911 even if you are abroad.

As always, the series 5 gets a ton of new watch faces, band colors and styles. But for the first time, Apple Watch gets a Titanium finish. Earlier finishes include Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Ceramic. The series 5 GPS models will start at $399 and cellular models will start at $499.

New iPad

At the event, Apple refreshed its entry level iPad. The other iPad models are - iPad mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro. Remember when Apple had just one iPad every year? Anyways, the entry level iPad is a great and affordable way to enter Apple's ecosystem for those who would like to experience it.

The new seventh gen iPad comes with a bigger screen, 10.2 inch Retina display. It comes with an A10 Fusion chip (same as previous gen) which Apple says is twice as fast as the most popular PC in the US this year. It also gets the smart connector, allowing users to connect smart keyboards to take advantage of the new iPadOS.

This means users will get a lot of features from desktop right on their iPads. One of the most useful ones is the ability to connect SD card or thumb drive directly to the iPad using its lightning connector. It also has Apple Pencil support which makes the work flow even better. The new iPad has a 10-hour battery life and comes with a storage capacity of up to 128 GB.

All this at a price of $329 and $299 for educational customers which I must say, is a great price for the quality of product you're getting.

Apple Arcade

Apple finally launched Apple Arcade to the world after announcing it at a special event in March. It is the world's first game subscription service for mobile, desktop and TV. Currently there are about a hundred exclusive new games for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV with new games being added every month.

Instead of paying upfront for each game individually, the subscription gives you access to all of the games in Apple Arcade. Users can find Apple Arcade in the App Store app on any of the platforms. Apple Arcade has games from many different genres, so there's something for everyone. The service will be available starting September 19 for a price of $4.99 per month, for the whole family.

Apple TV+

Apple TV Plus, Apple's Netflix-like streaming service was also finally released at the event after being announced in March. The service will go live on November 1 and will include Apple's original movies and TV shows. Only 9 programs will be launched initially with 5 more to follow in the coming months.

It is not sure whether Apple will license other TV shows and movies too or whether it will just offer its original programs. Apple TV Plus will be available in the Apple TV app alongside other subscription services like HBO and Starz. It will cost $4.99 per month, for the whole family. Also, if you buy a new Apple device, you will get a free year of subscription.
