I had been looking to replace my shoes from some time and was waiting for some good discounts and finally the BLACK FRIDAY SALE arrived on the Adidas site offering extra 20% discount on purchase of Rs.4299 & above. Usually they offer different discounts on different products and most likely its based on availability of different sizes.
But then we all have some reservation over our choice and I was looking for a dashing color and at the same time good quality that I can use for everyday running. And the problem is the size, because my size (9) is a more common one, and it sells fast. So by the time a product reaches more discount (like 50% or 60%), often that size is not available. So I decided to buy it with 30% discount as the extra 20% discount from BLACK FRIDAY SALE was also applicable. So with all the offers, the final price was like this : ₹9519.60
There is a saying that, if you have elders then ask them and if you have younger, then inform them before deciding something. The boy is at home and I know he is a Master in finding niche shopping discounts. In fact so many people call him to find a niche deal - typical internet savvy kid. So when I told him that I am going to buy this, he told me wait. There is an extra 15% discount in new SIGN UP and he can sign up and we can avail that extra discount. So I was okay with that decision, as it would save me extra ₹1427.94 - who does not want more saving !! But wait, the boy came back with something more exciting.
The same product was available in lesser price on Tata Cliq, his instinct to search for cheaper deals found that.
The same product was available in 60% discount, with an additional 10% Instant Discount (Max Discount ₹1000) on ICICI Bank Credit Cards on Min Purchase of ₹1500. So we quickly verified the seller and felt OK with the seller because there is 30 Days Easy Return, so we can return, in case we are not happy.
This is my first purchase on Tata Cliq, even though I had registered earlier, I did not purchase anything. Quickly set the address, and proceed for the Check out.
I would not have applied this coupon to get extra ₹500 off, had the boy been not there.
On checking out, there was the option to apply the bank offer for 10% instant discount on ICICI bank Credit Card. And interestingly, I had some NeuCoins showing up there that I could also encash. They came from my Bigbasket shopping as that has also now been acquired by Tata.
And with all this clubbed, the final price came down to ₹5499.92.
So without delaying, we went ahead and paid to confirm the order. This also credited 21.88 NeuCoins which can be redeemed after a month. The boy saved me an extra ₹4019.6 in few minutes, which was praiseworthy. Now we are exploring more products on Tata Cliq 😀 And he is behind NeuCoins - looking forward to collect from all possible sources.

Its always nice to get a savings. Online retailers sometimes let you buy 2 shoes at 10% off. I think thats a great way to attract shoppers. But then you get 2 pairs, even thought you originally only wanted one !

Those are some very nice shoes! I was looking at some new Nikes the other day, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend $90 on them. I'm a bit frugal!
Well, our knees are worth much more, isn't it ? I go with that philosophy, and try to get in reasonable price. Someone was telling me in comments, this is an old model, but I am still happy because the new ones are way above our affordability. And more ever, we are not professional runners, just some light exercise, so old is good enough. I bet, you spend more for others and don't think twice ? But when it comes to us, we feel a bit conservative ?
That is a good point. I do have one pair of Nikes and they are more comfortable than any other shoe I have ever owned.
I have not tried Nike so far, may be I need to try then, but only next year, after this one tears out.
Just look for a sale. Regular price they are too expensive!
