There are friends that lie

One thing about humans is that no one is perfect, although God created us in his image which is a perfect image, but even with that, no one is perfect, it's only God that's perfect.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about that, “friends don't lie.”
Well to me, the saying should be true, but it's not, especially in our current age or dispensation when friendship is all about betrayal and lies.
Although, friendship in the past was full of loyalty and it would be kind of hard for one to lie to his or her friend not to talk of betraying them and as a result, the saying “friends don't lie” became the order of the day.
However, that's then, people, most especially friends, don't lie to each other alone these days, but also betray and hurt one another.
Some time ago, a friend of mine in whom I put all my trust lied and betrayed me. I called him into a partnership business and we both agreed not to lie nor betray each other, but as time went by, I realized that this friend of mine was hiding the truth to me about the running of the business which was a supplying business.
Then, I realized that he got a contract to supply 10 trucks of granite worth 25tons each, but my friend lied to me that he was called to supply 3 trucks worth of 10tons thereby reducing the profit to be gained together.
It's later that I got to know that he was lying to me when a customer of mine whom he had hijacked told me about the operation.
It's so shocking and disappointing when I got to know that he lied to me and ever since then, I never believed in the popular saying that says “friends don't lie.” again.

Nowadays it's hard to get friends who don't lie. Everyone is after their gain that they forget the place of friendship
Hmmm , well that should tell you that before he became your friend , he's human too, so never put complete trust in a person
That's quite sad. Asides from the fact that you got him onboard in the first place, if he truly considered you as a friend, he should have been heartily willing to come clean with you as you both shoulder the responsibilities and profits together 🤞.
Truth and loyalty in friendships these days are getting scarce
This is one of the reasons why I am scared of doing business with my friends. You can't tell what the content of a man's heart is, in the end, instead of helping each other grow, it might just end in dispute and in worst cases, end the friendship
Many can lie but it depends on the gravity of lie ..
