Success and its journey
Greetings!

One thing in life is that, success has many friends while failure doesn't, but the road to achieving success in life is a very rough and crooked one.
However, for one to achieve success in life, such a person must first and foremost have a dream of what he or she wants to become in life. It's this dream that would translate into success at the end.
But having a dream of what to become in life doesn't guarantee that success will be recorded. In fact, success may not even come near the owner of the dream and this is because this life would not give us what we deserve unless we strive for the best.
Having talked about success and dream, I would like to respond to the topic which is about dream and success. And doing this, I would like to use myself as a case study. So, sit back and read along.
While growing up, my dream to achieve success in life was to become a pilot, but unfortunately, I couldn't pursue that dream to the letter, just because of my poor performance in calculation. Although I tried hard to follow the path to success, but all to no avail.
So, after I failed in pursuing my dream of becoming a pilot, I chose another field which was to become a lawyer and climb my stairs to the peak of my career, but because of the sudden death of my mum who was my major financier, I could n't progress with the dream.
Although I would have gone ahead to study the course, when I heard and learnt about the huge amount to be paid at the law school, I changed my mind knowing fully well that there's no one to help me in that line when the time comes.
So, the above was the change in my second dream to success, but even at that, I didn't relent as I pursued the third dream of mine which was back then teaching. I have always loved to be a teacher in life, but for the meagre salary that they were being paid, I decided not to go that route.
But when I have failed in pursuing my previous two dreams, I fell back to pursuing my teaching dream which this time around I was able to accomplish and that's what I'm doing right now.

So, in everything that has happened in the pursuit of my dreams, there's a lesson I learnt from all that happened and that lesson is that, the road to success is very rough, but with discipline, passion and determination, one can achieve more than what he or she bargained for. This is because what I thought would not bring me success, has now brought me success and honor in life and apart from this,iI now enjoy my peace of mind with my teaching profession.
In conclusion, my own definition of dream and success is all about living a fulfilled and peaceful life, anything short of that is not a successful life to me.
This is my entry to the sciFi Multiverse weekly prompt.
Thanks for reading.

Living a fulfilled and peaceful life... That's what a successful life seems like to me too. Sorry you had to give up your earlier dreams, but it's good to see you didn't relent and sit back, but you're doing something you also like. That's the success spirit.
Yeah, that's spirit. Thanks for stopping by.
You're welcome.
Life always has its way of shaking us to fall off but even at that, it doesn't shake us to the point where we can't go further, it's just the determination of the person involved 💪
seriously life change change many things as we journey through it, i believe one can truly succeed in his dreams or whatever he holds dear to heart, however not living your initial dream doesn't mean you're a failure, it's just life telling you to change course so you can find success else were
