Building a healthy digital relationship

The advent of technology has really brought an unprecedented change the the world and the human race respectively. Though the people of old that lived in the ages past also lived their lives to the fullest of their own time too, but the current advent of technology into the world has brought about a rapid change and development to all humans.

The coming of technology has really helped us in making life more easier than what it used to be, not only that, it's also bring the world to each and everyone doorsteps as can be seen in our relationship with one another, unlike before when every means of communication was crude and remote, but now, and like I said earlier, the advent of technology and technological media apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram,X and the likes have really made the entire world as big as it is, a small community where everyone one can now relates without any form stress and at the comfort of our abode and palm.

But one thing I have got to know about life is that, there's no way something might be good without having it's own bad or negative side. Even the crude life our forefathers lived in the past that seems not to good or lively as the one we now live also have it's own advantages and one of it advantages is that it's real compared to the kind of life or relationship we now live or form respectively which is fake to some certain extent when compared to the ages.

So, going by the topic which has to do with digital relationships, I would like to state here that one thing that the advent of technology and technological built app have done for us is in the building and strengthening of the world relationships as can be seen in the way people of the world now relate with each other.

Through the technological developed apps, such as the Facebook app, WhatsApp, Instagram and the likes, I have seen people relating with each on countless occasion without them seeing or meeting each other in person. This has been happening right from the advents of these apps.

You can now see people having a long distance relationship with another person from another land, people now date each other on these platforms, business transactions now happened through this apps without any embargo or hinderance. Indeed digital relationship has really come to our doorsteps and not only that, it's also been made easy.

Even on the Hive blockchain, I also have been able to meet and relates with people on the blockchain without any form of hinderance. Now, I now have friends whom I relate with on the blockchain both on the blockchain and off the blockchain via other means such as the technological developed apps which includes the WhatsApp, Facebook, X and others.

Through my posting on the X.com, I have seen people engaging my Hive post and now turned to friends, such is life.

So, the digital relationship is a thing of joy to me and this is because it's made relationship so easy and simple in such a way that you don't necessarily have to be present physically to listen,see,talk or to even hear the person you are in to. But, with all these advantages attached to the digital relationships, there's also a big BUT, which has overtime made the digital relationship of a thing more worse than expected.

Though, the advantages are many and good, but the disadvantages are more grievous and deadly than the advantages and this is because of the those things that are associated with the digital relationships which includes : fraudulent act, killing, lying and betrayal.

Sometimes ago, a man was found with a human part in his neighborhood and when arrested, he said he killed an online friend whom he invited to his place for ritual. I have also seen people lying to each other via this digital relationship.

A friend of mine, Smart by name started a dating relationship with Anita, a girl she met online and they were both fond of each other, until a day that Smart invited Anita to come visiting, they both planned to meet at a specific point, so, when Anita arrived, Smart went to fetch her at the agreed point, but lol and behold, Smart could not recognize her as a result of her not being the same person he met online.

All these and many more are those things that can be seen as the negative side of the digital relationships. Though the positive sides are pretty okay and I'm not saying digital relationship is not good, but one should be conscious when relating with people they've not met physically but online and also, we should not be moved by emotions when it comes to relating with them.

Not only this, our privacy should to be exposed to them until we got to know them well and what they are up to, as some come into relating with others with this kind of ulterior motive in their heart.

I have also met people of good mind online. I even met my wife online and we are now living together. Same as my business partners, I have not even met some of them physically and that doesn't deter us from doing our businesses which is flourishing. The only thing we just have to do is to not lose guard.
