Hi Sammy, in this post I wanted to clarify the difference between the procurement logistics system and the production logistics system. I'll try to summarize.
The procurement logistics system is the set of processes, resources, and rules that plan, procure, move, and make available raw materials, components, and services necessary for production (from the supplier to the point of use).
The production logistics system is the set of processes that govern internal flows (materials, WIP, information) between receiving, warehouses, lines/cells, up to the finished product, including internal inventory management, movements, kanban/supermarket, kitting, and sequencing.
