Resistors in series, parallel and mixed Ω+Ω
Today we will see how resistors react to each other depending on how you put them together.
Let's start off by saying that there are two ways to put resistors together, series and parallel. In series they add to each other's resistance as seen in the following image.
And in parallel there will be a decrease in resistance using the formula in the following image.
Now that we know how both types of connections in between parallels work we'll look at a mixed circuit, though mixed is a term that is made up since there are little to no circuits commonly used that are only one or another.
You can see a mixed circuit and it's formula in the following image.
To also add a bit of explanation on how it would look with the proper values I will solve it in the following image(s)
And so these resistors put together in this configuration will give us a total resistance of 1360.76Ω. What should also be done as you solve the mixed circuit is simplification.
Those are the basics when putting resistors together. We will now go over some of the basic shortcuts you should know.
To end this post I would like to once again state that I am still in school and I am fascinated by electronics so, again, if I made any mistakes I as that you please understand and tell me in the comments so that I can correct any false information. Again thanks for reading and I hope to see you in the next post which will be about this same mixed circuit but we will be adding a voltage to it to make things more interesting!
