Why is SPS not calculated on my occupied land, but only grain?

A Plot can only do 1 of 3 things at a time. They can produce Grain, perform Research or mine SPS. You have to select the right building for the job. Grain Farm is the default selection. You have to change it to a Shard Mine to mine SPS and enjoy the 100% bonus given to Occupied Land.
