Mineral Mondays #84 - Mineral Photography
The more minerals my wife & I take pictures of the more I realize what an art form it is. This Coyamito agate kind of looks like a strawberry.
Coyamito Agate - Mexico
It takes not only a good photographer to set the lighting, but also to have the eye to capture the mineral specimen in it's best, most attractive position. I know this is a theme throughout photography, but until you actually try to practice it you can't appreciate how difficult it is.
Quartz Scepter - Pakistan.
Some rocks just don't want to be shown in a good light and so you just take what you can get.
Hemimorphite - Arizona
Others are natural born killers and look good from almost any angle, especially gold!
Gold - Arizona
Kokoweef Cave Onyx - California
Smokey Quartz & Amazonite - Colorado
Fluorite & Galena - New Mexico
Brochantite - New Mexico
That's gonna do it for this Mineral Mondays. See ya next time.
Thanks for reading!

Beautiful minerals. I wonder how long it took for each piece to be created. Millions of years? It's like taking a snapshot of Earth's geological history. Very nice.
Thanks. That specific mineral took a long time. It's a stalactite.
It has magnificent patterns.
Amazing specimens and fantastic photos!
