My experience of online booking system

We are in an era where everything is online and it is very helpful and time saving system. Whoever introduces this idea of online booking system, I would like to thank that person. he makes our lives easier. You can check and select through dates, preferable time, availability of seats, it’s a real nice thing specially for a person like me who is too lazy to go and do booking physically through booking counters or booking offices.

However, in Pakistan, it still needs a lot of improvement in their systems. I am talking about online booking of bus tickets. There is no issue in buying online tickets of airlines, I have done it several times and never faced any issue. People do get hesitated in sharing their debit cards details online but those people do have too much money in their accounts so their fear is valid. On other hand, I don’t have much in my account so I don’t get any tension in buying things online.

Long time ago, I bought bus tickets online for my brother and it was a mess, amount deducted from account but we didn’t get the tickets. We did so many complaints on helpline and through email but we didn’t get proper response. At last, we accepted that we lost our money in that messed up system. From that time, I never booked online seats for bus tickets.

But yesterday, due to tight schedule and my plan of going to Islamabad today, I was unable to go to booking center or finding appropriate bus to travel. So, I decided to take that risk once again and booked bus tickets online. Guess what? Once again amount deducted and I didn’t get tickets on sms or on my email. I didn’t get panic and stood calm. I called at their helpline to get my tickets. I find improvement in their way of working even there are some looholes in their online booking system, their helpline people tried to help and shared WhatsApp number to share all details on it.

It took me couple of hours to send reminders to them through call and WhatsApp number and finally they sent me duplicate ticket through WhatsApp. I suggested and gave feedback to resolve their online booking system. It’s a useful thing but if a person does it, will get in a big mess. I was lucky that I booked for next day, if I had the same day bus then there would be a big problem for me. If you are providing services to your customers then its your responsibility to properly work on your products. All over the world, online booking system is very useful and don’t have much issues like we have here at the moment, we need to work on these areas more to get them resolved and everyone can freely and happily enjoy using online booking systems. I am glad that my money didn’t get wasted this time and I hope, bus will be the same as it is mentioned on their website. Lets hope for the best.

Online booking here in Nigeria seems to be cool. They are really trying on that aspect. However despite all ups and downs you encountered, I am glad to hear that u later secured Ur ticket. I hope they do better over there

I am a bit late in replying because I was out of city and no access to my hive account.
Well, I have seen online bookings in 2008 and 2009 in Sweden and UK respectively and they were cool at that time, just imagine how they would be doing it now which would be super cool but we are way behind in such services and still need to work hard in order to cop up with the current systems all over the world. Still I am happy that they do have online booking system lol
