THE ECHOES OF THE PAST

A lot of people these days have a standard to what they will want their spouse to be like both physically and character wise. While some will want a woman who is slim as a wife, others may prefer a woman who is fat; some will want the pretty face, another will prioritise intelligence as against beauty. Some will prefer a man who is financially sound, others just want a man who is loving and caring.

What do I want in a wife? To answer this question, I will have to answer the question “do I want to get married?”. Growing up, I have always craved to get married at an early age, buy a house and live happily ever after with my kids and my wife in our lovely home. I have dreamt of getting married to the love of my life at the age of 25. This dream has slowly faded away due to the economic situation I found myself in our country. While dreaming of getting married at age 25, I had a plan of securing a job after my graduation from the university, graduating at the age of 22 and getting married a little after at the age of 25.

This decision was so because I had met the love of my life, who was all that I wanted and needed in a wife; she was pretty, beautiful and at the same time she was so kind. My dream girl was a slim body, pretty face, intelligent and most importantly, she was so in love with me. We could talk for the whole day and will never get tired of talking to each other; she was not just my girlfriend but was my closest friend, a trusted partner. With her, the word boring was missing; she loved me so much so that she was not demanding and was content with what I could offer.

So, to answer the question of what standard I want in a wife? I want a slim lady, who is kind and beautiful both inwards and outward. I want a woman who will be content with what she has. I want an intelligent woman who is both book intelligent and is emotionally intelligent. I want a family woman, a woman who understands the value of family and has respect for the family institution. Most importantly, a woman who will love me as much as I love her.
